OK, I'm using a WIP build and when I try to do the palette preview thing for NPCs in map editting, Custom.exe locks up with big, unreadable letters. This isn't a major problem actually, but if someone else stumbles on it it could be. I'm using VDMS if that matters.
Trying it without VDMS... also locks up.
I'm gonna assume this is a problem with the WIP build.

I'm getting a problem in the WIP with battles. _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |

Yes, the battle thing is a known issue. The palette thing is not, however, I blame my computer for both.
See, James compiles with Quick Basic 4.5, and it runs goodly for him. However, for reasons which are mysterious to me, I can't compile with that. I use a somewhat newer version of QB (newer, as in 1989), Quick Basic 7.1. However, for reasons equally mysterious, programs compiled with QB7.1 use more memory.
Normally, that's not a big deal. However, with programs like the OHR (which are already pushing the boundries of the universe), that extra memory usage is like a ticking time bomb: You never know when it'll go boom.
Unfortunately, it seems to have manifested itself in the battle functions (in Game), and the palette preview (in Custom) _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

Try compiling with QB4.5 again - it recently started working for me.
And if it doesn't, theres always one fall back: compile the final build of the WIP under DOSBOX.
I might check later if it appears in executables created with 4.5 |

A) This was mid June.
B) If you don't know what you're reading, there's no reason you have to make it known.
C) Try to add (at the very least) a bit of content to each post. Just a smidgen. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.
