OMG GIZ THAT IS WRONG
Ok, I finally got round to actually PLAYING the game, and I have no idea what you're are talking about. Right now its the worst OHR games ever made, and if it wasn't CN's and a contest game, CN himself would probably start a public compaign condemning it.
It is however the perfect game for such a contest, for if I were to give a score in every category, I would give it a zero in each, except for battles.
The funny thing is, I can finish it in under 30 seconds- it has the same 'run from bosses' bug/feature that Arfenhouse has. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

If you want to choose between two characters you might have to make them both interesting or have something to do with eachother, or the plot. That would mean a story update first... _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

On the two characters gimmick thing- why not let you switch between them any time you feel like it (Use an item or press a key or somesuch), and when you control one you can walk to where the other one is and see them standing there (perhaps even have conversations). The obvious way to use this would be where one can get to places the other can't, open switches and so forth for the other opening several various intresting puzzle opportunitys. _________________ "Why is it when they say an adult has the mind of a Sew, they lock him up, while Sews are allowed to run free in the streets."

Here's my idea for a 'gimmick.'
Have the gimmick be a level up system. The OHR's is poorly designed.
Make an insteadofbattle script that randomates the battles or use NPCs
and assign EXP values, etc. Then have the player choose which stat
he wants to improve each level. Make sure that the stats have caps. |

Heh. That was in the Comunity challenge game! Check it out...
Of course you knew that.
Using the terrain around you is kind of a gimmik... Like going up a stream that has a wall of rocks on the other side, and finding a raft that you take down stream to use as a bridge to cross over to the other side (the part that has a gap in the wall). Well... That is just an example of what I stated on a map gimmik. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I'm going with Giz's or JSH's gimmick, at least those don't need to worry about hours of programming and bugtesting, which is not exactly the point of this reverse contest in the first place.
I thought the game was supposed to be used to improve on, not make another engine that may or may not work.
Giz's idea would be great, if the story had been improved on. or if both characters have unique skills to use.
JSH's idea would be fun to play with, where the player chooses how the character will develop. Like, he could have a huge amount of strength but everything else is crap, or balanced stats, but won't excel in any area
It makes you think how to develop. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch
(no offense to anyone that was mentioned) |

Just as an unaimed argument to anyone who said story needed improvement before a second selectable character:
Think, were Ken and Ryu really much different in the first Street Fighter? I mean, basically just different colors, and one of them had stronger fireballs, the other better hand to hand attacks. The same could easily be done here. |
