Anyobody playing any games right now (new or old)?
I've been replaying the SNES Final Fantasy games inbetween homework and stuff. Looking forward to We Love Katamari and whatever DS games I can get once I have the money. I hope 2005 ends up being a better year for games than 2004... 2004 seriously sucked. |

For some reason I decided to reach into my dusty booklet of CD games, and pull out Thief, the first one. I'd forgetten how well made that game really is. It, strangely enough, has better gameplay than most games today.
How many first person shooters allow you to: actually sneak in shadows, hang on and climb up ledges, make a slight noise (jumping, running, hitting objects) and have enemies react, and shoot that which is an arrow that explodes either water, fire, or poisonous gas?
I would choose Thief over Halo anyday.
I wish my SNES worked.. _________________

Well I've mostly been playing Mario Sunshine, and Soul Calibur 2. The ones I play alot are Half-Life 2 and Halo 2. I'm waiting for the revolution mainly. |

I'm playing Shadow Hearts: Covenant, which is unique and interesting but repetitive and waaaay too easy. I can't decide whether I like it or not. _________________ Ssalamanderr's Journal!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ssalamanderr/

Warcraft III, Megaman Zero 3, and that's about it. I've got this fantastic urge to play through DigDug2 for some reason, but cannot get it to work. |

Fufilling my craving for oldschool fun with Chrono Trigger. Just got the broken masamune.
I'm also at the Mana Fortress in Secret of Mana, but I've pretty much stopped played because the last 1/2 of the game is pretty much boss battles galore with tons of mindlessly unfair leveling. |

CN, I have so wanted to play SOM multi lately.
But the lotsa boss battles is the best part! Also, don't bother leveling, just plow through the enemies. The first time I played, most of the Pure Land was spent running away from Gryphon Claws and those Needlers. _________________

Learn to program so we can make a similar style game and play it together. Also, leveling up is awesome in SoM, only a chump wouldn't take advantage of 8 levels of attacks for 8 weapons.
...until you get to the last dungeon and the story has folded in on itself so many times you want to just run most of the NPCs through and stop using all your useless gear. |

Been working on Gradius 3 Arcade lately mostly. I'm not too good at it, it's a damn hard game. I can one life until the third level or so, but the later levels are just so damn difficult. It's ridiculous.
The farthest I've gotten was stage 8, I can't beat its boss. You need like 30980928 speed ups for it. x_x
It's definitely the hardest game I've played in the gradius series(nemesis x68k is tough too because i'm not used to how the ships come in at you; they come from behind instead of in front). I haven't played Gradius V or IV, so I can't say.
(anyone want to buy me them? xD)
It's a good game if you like it in the ass, though.
...literally.
I occasionally take breaks from it by playing Gradius 2 NES, which is.. like the easiest game in the series. It's interesting.
I've been playing Salamander too, but most of my time was spent with g3a, and i still need to finish r-type 3, aero fighters, and UN squadron.
I still like G3 SNES most, though. |
