Hm, now it crashed when browsing through the menus. :-/
Probably OHR bug as well.
Also maybe a bug:
The 3rd page of Hannah 04/21/06 is incomplete (the sentence isn't finished) |

There's a very large difference between something like the tutorial house in Final Fantasy VI and telling the player what they are supposed to do at that specific moment. The FF example is much less intrusive atmosphere of being in a game world than the latter. A manual is read outside of the game world, so there's absolutely no intrusion.
I will agree that telling the player how to play the game in game can be a good idea, but it has to be held with some tact.
I haven't gotten particularly far, but so far I'm enjoying Bloodlust. I have found that if you go to the other side of the street from the house, you will pick up the diary both times.
I will say the instant death at home was a little sneaky, almost like it was playing off of the old RPG cliche of having a free bed to sleep in to regain HP. But I wouldn't change it though. It's not too far in the game to make me not want to play it again, and it really told me that this is a situation with no rests, this is not your standard RPG.
I haven't found out if this is OHR related or not yet, but I noticed that in this game and Vampire's Curse, that the sound effects are late. I'm not sure if the OHR is playing the file late or if there's silence in the sound file before the sound plays. If there's silence, I suggest cutting it. I'm not sure why that sticks out to me like a sore thumb, but it does.
But I look forward to finishing this game. _________________ Calehay |

I noticed the battle SFX were delayed in Darkmoor, too. It's pretty annoying and while I'm sure it's the fault of the sound library being used it would be nice if the delay were compensated for by the code. _________________

It crashed again when I chose Inventory on the main Menu. Hm, maybe it has to do with playing two sounds at once (because I immediately pressed Enter after pressing alt).
And I didn't ask to remove the instant death scene, just let the player save before that. In fact I'd be expected some kind of dialogue in the sense of "How can I sleep when that thing is over there?", it's true that it's not too deep into the game especially because you can skip the dialogues the second time, however I can imagine some players might still not want to try it again.
Also I noticed that some of the books read strange, not sure if it's a bug. But for example in the torture bug one sentence contains an "either" but no "or" is following in the sentence. And on the same page the last sentence has an "is" too much I think. |

Another bug: Elementary School, Floor 1, Room 5, there are two clips in that room, but only one of them can be picked (the other one just disappears with no message).
Edit: Is it intentional that the 'city warps' are all labelled "EXIT" in green? It doesn't really fit into a horror rpg imo and it's easy enough to find the way without them. |

Yeah, I noticed this is true with a couple of my sound effects as well, but sound effects for parts like the intro shouldn't be playing late, at least it doesn't for me.
Also, if anyone else reaches the city and finds the EXIT signs don't really fit in and you can see the exits easily enough, just let me know. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

The creepiest thing in this game so far is the huge vagina monster. And I'm not saying that to be funny. _________________ SACRE BLEU!
