|
|
i am working on a game i was working on a while ago, unfortunately i lost the original .hsi file, but the scripts are already loaded in game, so thats not a real problem. But when i write new scripts and try to import them, all the scripts that were originally built in my rpg file are erased!
is there anyway i can keep the old files while still importing new ones? |

No.
Isn't there a script exporter out there somewhere? _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |

Obsolete, as in it once worked for an older version of the OHRRPGCE?
Try the exporter again after saving your game in an older version, say, Tirgoviste or Hasta-la-qb.
I did this when trying to use an old Graphics exporter, and it worked. |

It was about 20 plotscripts for moving npcs and displaying textboxes/setting tags etc. |

I wouldn't expect that to work. But if you want to try it, make sure you save a backup copy of your game, since saving a new game in an old version of custom can cause new data to be lost.
I am pretty sure that TMC was working on a new script decompiler, but I can't remember for sure... |

I suggest rewriting the scripts. |

Starting with tonight's nightly build, hspeak will automatically keep a backup copy of the script inside the .hs file. This won't help you get your script back, but I just wanted you to know that your loss has stopped other people from having the same loss in the future :) |

Actually, I have now decided so I don't have to rewrite all the scripts, I will break my game into 2 RPG files, with the end of the ''Ãntro'' rpg giving you a password allowing you to access the next one. So far I have only made the introduction to the characters anyway, so there won't be much variety between stats at the end of the introduction file. |

For goodness sake! I've been forced to add great big highlighting to the 'HS Decompiler' page to make sure that this doesn't happen again (people not noticing that they can email me to get their scripts back)! _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
