Mmmm... Giant Robots aren't exactly my thing. As a matter of fact I outright despise those shows for lack of originality. |

Originality? Ha... ha... haha... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Umm...
When was the last time you saw something that could be accurately termed as 'original?' See, for me, it's never. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

Well, if someone dies, they're dead, and they can create a new character and buy new equipment as though nothing had happened. If, you should lose your vehicle, but survive, then you'll have to get a loan, or run various odd jobs for someone willing to loan you a mech, until you get enough money to buy your own.
Go ahead and make your characters, here's the information on the items. Prices on it might change, but if I change it higher, you can go ahead and keep it for the price it's listed as, and if I change it lower, you can change to the discounted price.
Climate Control Air Conditioning and Heating. Helpful in Space, Desert, and under water 250
Escape Pod 250 Let's you escape from your vehicle, although, it has no weaponry on it, and cannot be equipped with such. Moves incredibly fast
Parachute free Although, I wouldn't try it in Space, or while moving incredibly fast. Nothing but a parachute, no padding, protection from the elements or anything. Open the hatch and jump.
Secondary Reactor Increases a small to a medium, medium to large, large to ultra 1,000
Additional Panel 500 Creates a station and controls for another pilot, gunner, radar officer, etc. If the ship has a crew of more then 1, you can automatically choose one of these free. For instance, a corvette with a crew of 2, one could be pilot, one could be gunner, and have weapons specified as his turret.
Space Manuevering Jets 250 Allows you to manuever much, much better in space.
Hover Jets 2,000 Let's a mech constantly hover.
Targeting Computer 500 Helps you fight enemies, and also guides missles. Can be spoofed with countermeasures, jammers and cloaking devices.
Jammers 1,000 Jams Radar around your craft, allowing you a good chance of slipping past radar.
Radar 500 Detects vehicles, and alerts you to their presence. Spoofed by Jammers. |

Sensor Array 1,500 Picks up radar, thermal, and sound emissions from things. Not easy to fool.
Cloaking Device 3,000 Makes your ship invisible to the human eye, but still shows on radar. Costs double on anything bigger then a corvette.
Countermeasures 200 Throws missles off target when fired at you. Limited supply.
Ballute 250 Large, rubber inflatable, that allows your vehicle to reenter the earths atmosphere, although, you cannot manuever at all with it deployed.
Reentry shielding 500 Special coating of the armor allows you to reenter atmospheres, and still manuever, and even fight.
New Territory Type 1500 Add a new type of terrain that you can fight in.
Transformation 3000 Specify what you want to turn into. A Small Mech into a fighter, or armor. You can't turn into anything larger then a corvette (Although, for double the price, a capital ship could turn into a mech.) You retain whatever reactor you had before, and all weapons, though you could specify certain weapons that only worked in one mode or the other.
Docking Joint 1500 let's you dock with another mech, or fighter, to combine into one. Specify what you're going to fuse with.
Also, here's the main faction. I'll introduce the other one in the first game related post, (To allow a bit of surprise) which will be in a separate thread.
Terra Alliance: The united countries of Earth, who, despite the fact that they still maintain boundaries, unite themselves to defend Earth from wars. They mainly run from hotspot to hotspot, stopping wars before they escalate. Their main opponent are the various "Gangs" of mech pilots, who for one reason or another dislike the uniting of the world's armies. Also, the Terra Alliance boasts many powerful mechs, and has the largest and most powerful space force in existence. |

I've seen plenty of original things:
1: Microsoft is the original evil of the world
2: Final Fantasy 1 was also original
3: Cookies are the original good in the world
4: The entire "Arfenhouse" thing (Movies, games, comics, all of it.)
5: Your screen name
6: I would list Survivor here, seeing as it's the original reality show, but I've never watched it.
The list goes on and on... |

NOT ON TOPIC IS A REPLY TO PREVIOUS POST WILL BE MADE SMALL JUST IGNORE IT.
1. Evil corporations existed long before Microsoft.
2. The basic plot of FF1 (what little there was) was already cliche--- even back then, yes--- and RPGs similar to it had been done on paper before it was made.
3. Good foodstuffs existed long before cookies.
4. Well... I DO have a good reason, but Arfenhouse is lightyears ahead of anything else in its genre and I'd rather not say anything even mildly demeaning about the total awesomeness of Arfenhouse.
5. Blazes, Battles, and Incorporated are three words that have been around longer than anyone alive's been born. Throwing some words together isn't particularly original.
6. Stupid shows--- including reality TV shows--- have existed long before Survivor. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

(sorry for double-posting, but I don't know if anyone else will post here soon or if the game will start soon on a new thread without anyone else posting here and if I edited the one above it wouldn't show as a new post so no one would notice this one... yeah)
No offense, but the information (including the part put up on its own page here) is REEEELY hard to follow (at least for me) because it's just a whole bunch of text without any dividers to the sections. I gathered it all and put it into tables and such (for my own future use) in a .doc. Do you mind if I post a link to it?

Thanks! Er... I'll edit this when I see if this link works or not...
The Document!
EDIT: It does! And since it's a .doc, you can just do a 'save as' thing to save in an editable format if you want to keep it for whatever reason.
If anyone can't open .docs for some reason, tell me and I'll convert it to a .html file as well. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

How many points do you get to make your mech? I think you said 2000 somewhere. but that doesn't buy much.... _________________ Ssalamanderr's Journal!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ssalamanderr/

Make it 2,500, then, I guess. Didn't really want you to start with a whole heck of a lot, but 2,500 should be a decent amount. |

Okay, here's my character. I'm not sure if I did this right or not...
Character-
Constitution: 4
Charisma: 1
Piloting: 8 (primary-mecha, secondary-corvette)
Techinical: 10
Tactical: 2
Vehicle-
Light mech with steel armour- 600 credits (terrain type is space)
Medium machine gun- 250 credits
light beam weapon- 200 credits
light melee weapon- 200 credits
Jammers- 1000 credits
space maneuvering jets- 250 credits
Basically, my character will be some sort of space pirate or part of a rebel group. He does lightning quick raids on lightly protected supply convoys or something like that. _________________ Ssalamanderr's Journal!: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ssalamanderr/

Well, that's pretty close. Instead of just Medium Machine gun, a Light Beam Weapon, and Light Beam melee, you could do "150 mm Machine gun (Medium Machine Gun) and "Beam Pistol (Light Beam Weapon)" "Beam Sword (Light Beam Melee) |

Okay, I'll sign up too now then. That was a confusing sentence.
Constitution-3
Charisma-2
Piloting-6 (The main one is for ships, and secondary is for mechs. Do I have to be more specific for either of those?)
Technical-7
Tactical-7
Corvette with composite steel armor - 1,500 (it said expensive for composite steel, so I picked the most expensive price. If it's supposed to be more than that, tell me)
Climate Control Air Conditioning and Heating - 250
Ballute - 250
Two small laser guns (Light Beam x 2) - 250
Two miniscule machine guns (Light Shell x 2)- 100
A sword made of really durable metal to put on the front of the ship so if there's an emergency, I could actually try ramming another ship (does it really matter which kind of metal since it isn't armor? And Medium Melee) - 150
I'll choose a side to be on (or none) once we learn about the other factions.
(I do have a question though. Other than getting more money to get more powerful mechs and weapons and stuff, which I know we can do, can we ever improve our stats? If we can't, I want to change some of my stats and equipment...) _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

Stats will be given out for good roleplaying, money for completing missions. By that I mean, for instance, if you know you're outmatched, but your character isn't the type to admit that, and you keep fighting, and get shot down, you'll get a stat point. So, stay in character, and you'll be rewarded.
As for your question about armor, you don't have to add anything to the price of the mech. It just means, that if I spend, say the bare minimum on a mech, I'll get more Iron then I will Composite Steel, and the more iron might be better then the thin composite steel. And no, heh, it doesn't really matter what type of metal since it's not armor.
I'm still working out plot, because when I reread it, the plot I'd made sounded too famillar, so I'm working out something else. Basically though, it'll be pirates, mercenaries, An Alliance simillar to NATO/United Nations, Whatever countries don't join that, and, if it didn't remind me so much of the Gundam Series, Armed Militias from the Space Colonies.
Edit: Yeah, the Terra Alliance is the same alliance I mention here. Also, there's going to have to be NPCs. Not a chance we'll be able to get people to play every character needed.
