Is it just me or do CP members post less and less nowadays? I mean, I check the boards frequently and I notice one to no posts between 3-4 hours. That's roughly four posts from the whole community a day. Are people losing interest or something?

Hasnt this been brought up a few times before?
But i must say that i agree with you. Its getting lonely out here. I suppose though that we cant do anything about it. Sadly.

I mean we can go around advertising the site, but people that are interested will only come. And there arnt many who are interested in the OHRRPGCE system and such. Guess we shall just have to hang tight and wait for a breakthrough or something. Rolling Eyes

Please people! POST! I have seen people logged onto the site before, and they look at everything and dont even give their veiws and the situation. Sad Sad... (I suppose its their oppinion, but it would be nice to see what everybody is thinking) Big grin

It's Summer, and most users are out having fun (like I wish I could be doing) or doing other stuff. Trust me, when school starts back up, they'll more than likely be back.

I think Setu's reason was a lil bit better than Wiz's but you never know. There could be the entire OHR community playing RO.

There's a lot of reasons why people may not be around as much as they used to. Me, for example, have been looking for a summer job the last month or so, and have also had school. In my free time, I'd play FFXI (Because I just spent the day working, I'm too wiped out to do stuff on CP >.< )

I think a good portion of people may get summer jobs, go on vacations, go out with friends, or just choose to do something entirely different like play an online game. It's summer now, and people have a lot of free time. Now they're free to try out other new things on the net and are probably more interested in that right now as it's a newer experience than what you find on the CP boards.

And that may also be a problem that will hopefully be fixed later; The lack of a reason to be here other than discuss the same thing over and over. Now, you might think that if people would make games and talk about creative things that there'd always be something new to discuss on CP and thus never get boring. And maybe some don't get bored.

< Pesronal rant>

But for me, personally, I get bored with seeing messages like "What do you think of such and such idea?" or "Would this work?" or "Is this story good?". I like seeing more action and trial and error than simple ideas. Asking other people for opinions about things that aren't made will never give you a clear idea whether something is good or not. In theory, a LOT of things should be good, but the end result tells other wise. What I'm saying is, don't ask if we like it... Just make it and find out if it works or not. Each time you try, you'll get a better understanding about how games will work with certain things, and which don't... You'll be able to become a better game creator. Never be afraid of that bad review, or that low score in a certain area. It's all part of finding you weaknesses, and improving upon them.

For me, I'm not bored when people are pumping out games with cool gameplay twists, stuff you never see in other OHRs games. They don't need to be RPGs, just original (Although RPGs happens to be my favorite genre, so if you come up with some really original magic system or level up system, I'm gonna love your game and will discuss it (And if by chance you have made a game and think it has really cool gameplay, send me a PM. I can't download all games all the time, so getting references to games would be great)).

</rant>

But for the most part, I think it's not people being bored with the site as people kept talking about the same thing for over a year, I think they're just preoccupied with other things. Oookay...

On a side note, IM and me have plans for the site... Some big ones. We hope to get some stuff released after the summer maybe (While working on it during the summer), so maybe then people will have more diverse things to discuss and do on CP ^_^.

Trust me... This place will light up again some day. It goes through these so-called "dark ages". Then there are some golden ages in which a lot of us accomplish many great things. Just those times have made this comunity great and I am sticking with it for those reasons.

Minnek once said that these are great times to work on your games. Then we can START a golden age. It won't go any where unless you are going to do something to help it. Don't worry...

Oookay...

All that makes sense. I'm using myself as an example, but I work everyday, summer or not, hang with my friends, do tons of stuff and still find room for CP. Because even if we go online all during the school year, we're going to go on during the summer out of habit right?

Maybe after Fyre's unbanned again, he can get back to putting his many stellar games up on the list and we can get back to playing and reviewing them. He really is amongst the most productive members of the community..

Hello, this is Gilbert's mom. This was the last website his browser was on before he died of a heart attack just now. I heard him laughing so hard that he started coughing up blood (And that'll be a pain to clean out of the carpet). I don't know what made him laugh this hard and.. Oh Free Fyre? HHAHAHAHAHAhahah!

Sometimes WE JUST DON'T CARE.
Deal with it. People don't hang around here to cater to your post-reading cravings. Some of use have lives.

I don't post very often because most stuff here isn't worth my time. Seriously, as Cube said, most everything here is just a rehash of older stuff or a "what do you think of this [stupid/pathetic/unoriginal/stupid again] idea?" I'd much rather being DOING SOMETHING than asking whether or not something is acceptable. Christ, people, if you have an idea, DO IT, then people will be MUCH more inclined to comment on it. Most people here can't describe their ideas in a forum post anyway, and end up giving away every aspect of their game/project in the description. I don't want a description, I want something TANGIBLE, something I can BITE INTO. Most of this forum right now is badly written useless fluff, and I don't want to waste my time with it.

Well then it should be our job to try and make people like Castle Paradox the way we did when we first joined. Who likes joining a dead community? Tch, I know I wouldn't. I realize we're doing everything we normally do, review, post on topic, talk about games, but is there something we haven't done that could inspire more people to use the OHR?
