| I think a smooth engine could be nice. It would smooth out rough edges to make a game look better. Other time, however, they wonn't be needed. I think the designer should be able to choose whether the game will be smooth or not. |

I like what it does to Sword of Jade. |
That's a good point, which is why I think it is best left up to the designers. Some styles benefit from the smoothing and some don't. I've noticed that with my game, smoothing makes certain things look terrible. It changes a lot of things, but most notably the icons I've made in the font editor. Many are unrecognizable since they were designed without smoothing. Designers would have a better idea of what would make their game look best than a player who's going in blind.
Maybe the best thing to do would be to let the designer decide what the default setting should be, but allow the player to change it if they like. _________________ My name is...

I don't see what it would hurt to keep it off for default. It's not like any of the OHR games up until now were designed for smoothing, and I doubt a whole lot will be in the future. _________________

I guess I'm assuming that people without experience with the editor would automatically assume that it would be best to use smoothing. I think it would be the equivalent of giving the creator a "say" in the it, while ultimately giving power to the player to make the choice. _________________ My name is...
