My talents lie in plotscripting and story design and I can do a bit of walkabouts if I try hard enough. _________________ Im on 99% game making and 1% schoolwork so that kleaves no time to post.

| When the time , comes you can help us make the Battlesystem , and of there are probably a few miniquests that you could fit into , but from what I can tell , we still don't even have the castle lay-out done , so well shall call on you later . |

It might be interesting to evolve the story so that say all the members were part of a secret society (ie the OHR community) while banned members were excommunicated. However, over time something bizzare happened and as the admins (ie the "rulers" of this society) began to abuse their powers (no, I'm not hinting at anything right now ) the society members tried to LEAVE but COULDNT and...yeah, you former ally becomes your enemy, and you are siding with banned people to try to "get out" of this cult.
OK, so it popped into my head while reading this thread and it probably sucks, but yeah. Eh.
You'd have to put this somewhere (maybe banned people would have to wear it like "The Scarlet Letter") --> :flamedevil: _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

The game is already on its feet , but the story is still in production . The way I see the game is Harvist Moon , not Final Fantasy . Aka the game has a story but It really doesn't matter that much . But thank you everyone for your suggestions . I'll give you a plan of how we're designing this :
Step 1:
Get the Castle actually built ( walls , doors , roo , ect )
Step 2:
Get the mini-games and systems(banning,challenging,ect) fully working .
Step 3:
Think about the story
Step 4:
Get the community actually in the game
step 5:
Tie up the story , get the seal of approval and away it goes .

ok, I managed to come up with a 'plot'... I was hoping a calender system could be implemented and up dated as time goes by... I know the idea of a 365(or 366) day calender sounds like an immense task... but I have a skeleton script ready from another game... and i'm sure it can be tailored and what not.
"what has this got to do with a plot?" I hear you say, well I think the calender system would fit in well with the plot, for example all of the yearly contests can be taken consideration, random events could be set up every few days (to add replay value) and possibly members (mods)could arrange events and contests. Also there would have to be seasonal events, eg: the castle being decorated for christmas and whatever.
Also I'm working at the moment on a 'conversation' script, I'm hoping this would add an extra dimensions to npcs (after all most of them are members, real people). I'm currently just messing with a few 'if' statements, if anyone want's to help, or has any ideas... i'd appreciate it. _________________ ~PH

When you say 'conversation scripts' do you mean that when you talk to an NPC it says something different everytime?

no, what I ment was talking to an npc would bring up a basic menu system of some sort, (possibly with the characters portait) and you could interact with members from there, like in most rpgs it would be multiple choice... you could select various questions to ask and answers would be given. this would fit in well with the calender system as talking to members in this way could keep you informed on particular events and their roles in them. _________________ ~PH
