				| Okay, the title isn't very clear, but what I mean is, what do you think is the best game for a certain topic. Example: Gameplay, Humour, Graphics, Storyline, etc. |

Try the "Edit" function.

Best game for overall crappiness - I can't decide. Kidworld, or Midnight Rescue.

Yeah, Kidworld sucks crap. |

Storyline

Classic 2003 and earlier games: Wandering Hamster, Walthros

New games: Megaman Sprite Game, Tales of the New World

Now, if "Storyline" was a general "Writing" category instead, I could think of a lot of games that might have shallow or barebones plots, but make really good use of flavor text or characterization - not necessarily winning them extra points for humor even if that were still a factor. For example, I'd call all of Pepsi Ranger's and Surlaw's games well-written.

Games that I think were always overrated in various categories:

Ends of the Earth 2. Bad writing, ugly graphics, horrible gameplay.

Fantasy Under a Blue Moon X. Likewise.

Arfenhouse 3. The "Good" graphics part; the humor gels with me but the "good" graphics were never better than mediocre, barebones shaded OHR sprites; Joe's poses are stiff and lifeless, the spayz chip is dull and lifeless (barely better than a two tile maze), the non-Joe humans are all generic and identical...the "intentionally bad joke graphics" have a unifying theme and style to them though, as well as actually being varied in some ways. It's not like all the NPCs use Housemaster's walkabout.

Lolsidothaldremobine. Go back and look at this game's writing and humor; it wasn't all that witty. The graphics are decent mediocre OHR sprite work with too much pillow shading and the gameplay is, to put it in the nicest terms, rough but serviceable. You're advised to buy magic spells using a super rare consumable item but given no feedback on what any of the six spells available do - which are healing, which are attack, and which are buffs? Spell names like "Creamed Corn" don't tell you any such thing. I could probably write a pretty in-depth review about why I think the game's writing deserves a C- and the game as a whole is dragged down to a D+ but I doubt anyone's still checking the reviews to approve them.

Final Fantasy H. A lot of work went into this and it served as a great learning experience, from which Fenrir was able to start making an unironically good game: Vikings of Midgard. As it stands it's a mostly-competent remake of FF1 with one nice added feature (race selection as well as class), loads of questionable balance decisions, and additions and embellishments of the original story that only make it worse, not better. Fenrir's matured a lot since making this game (he wouldn't threaten to quit the OHR community forever if Vikings was given a review score of a or so C nowadays, much less if FFH was) as everyone should with 17 years. I think a solid C+ or B+ is a good rating for this depending on whether your standards are as an RPG altogether or as an OHR remake of FF1 specifically. I learned and matured a lot from trying and failing to imitate this game and Spellshard and learned a lot more from interacting with others in this community and other online spaces in the past 17 years.

Our community's joke games have gotten funnier and less miserable (the joke is now "the game is quick and easy, full of silly stuff" rather than "the game is long and tedious, you'll probably die a lot and aren't allowed to save"), our graphics have generally gotten better even at the lowest skill levels (thanks in part to some free graphics resources we share that are actually good), and in general while our community is a lot smaller in terms of total game making people, we also bicker less often. Sometimes we can even have mature, civil disagreements about topics like real adults! _________________ "I didn't start the flame war;
