We currently have a bug open about Midi music crashing in Windows Vista

I am looking for more testers who have Windows Vista and are willing to help reproduce this bug.

I am using Windows Vista, and midi does not work for me at all. I'm pretty sure it used to at some point, but I don't know what I could have done to turn it off, so to speak. I do not mean just in the OHR, I mean I can't hear them play from Anvil Studio either.

For what its worth though, having seemingly no midi-playing capabilities, I have never seen any crashes in custom or game using xocolatl+2. Then again, I have never poked around or tried to replace anything in the music menu, seeing as I could not hear the music anyway.

I use Windows Vista. Part of the problem is that, instead of a sound chip manager to manage volume control, Vista uses a program-by-program volume mixer.

I know I used to have the same volume problem, but I fixed it. (I wish I could remember how, though.)

If I had my laptop, I could give a definite yea or nay on changing music in Custom, but I do not recall having crashes in Xocolatl/Xocolatl+/Xocolatl+2

How about music crashes with the latest nightly builds?

But nothing has changed on the music front in several releases. Has anyone said that the nightlies act different from Xocolatl?

Some non-music-related crashes have been fixed since xocolatl, so maybe that is were the confusion is coming from.
