I've just created video walkthroughs for battles 10-12 in Darkmoor Dungeon. These are the first three battles on the second floor. The first, Shroudmage, is fairly easy but a lot of fun, while the other two, Revenant and Vengeance, are real killers if you don't go in with a solid strategy: the videos for those two fights represent my second attempt at each.
Post your game videos here! I like watching this sort of thing. _________________

What were you using to take the video?
I actually downloaded DD after watching this. I turned it off at the cleric sisters. Specifically, after I realized that getting revived got them their MP back and they could start healing again. (Actually, the alone one presumably summons two fresh ones). That's just irritating and annoying. (In the game's defense, I was being dumb and not thinking how the effect happened. I thought the sister needed MP to cast life.)
But that's neither here nor there. I'll start posting videos at some point, though again, what's a program I can use for it (freeware preferred, of course)?
ETA: Beat the sisters with a different party. Still think it's a fairly lame fight.

Camstudio....works, though I wasn't able to get it recording fullscreen OHR for some reason (came out all black, just text), and the file sizes are a bit on the OMG XBOCKS HEWGE side, but I made a....video, against the Doppleganger fight. Will upload soonish, hopefully within 30 minutes. |

I'm going to spend the night rehearsing a speed run and then replaying to record it. _________________

Warning: Video slightly borked: Contains an extra five minutes of the BGM playing again (*facepalm*). Not really a big deal, just stop when the video goes black. I'll fix this tomorrow and relink. Or least it as is, as a testament to my incompetance. This is mainly just a test video, anyway.
So yeah, games. |

Aww c'mon, that's the battle that made me stop playing for now. It's extremely hard and no fun because it's not about skill only about luck. In your video you have a healer so it's rather easy, though.
I wanna see a video of defeating Shroudmage without a healer, because that's really tough. You need to guess correct one around 5 times at a 25% chance but only can survive like 6 hits, that's in total a very low chance of winning the battle. :-/
I was hoping that there was a way to see which is the correct one, but in your video you often attack the wrong one as well, so I guess it's not possible. |

I was talking with Mogri about the Shroudmage. I mentioned to him that I found that it makes the battle magically easier if you attack the shroud that attacks you first, then move on to the one that attacks after that if it's wrong, etc... I can't guarantee that this is a good method that factually works better, but it oddly works much better than randomly guessing.
Also, he also suggests using Beserkers spam Wish if there isn't a healer. It only costs 5 MP, so it is a good idea. _________________

Hm Vengeance is also really hard without a healer and only one Berserker. Wish is only really nice if you have more than one Berserker. |

But you can at least defeat Shroudmage okay, right? _________________

I just retried until I was lucky actually for Shroudmage. Now I'm at Vengeance. Only chance I see is spaming stun. /hm |

Shroudmage:
- Priest: Heal or just Regen2 x2
- Ninja: Swift, tailor-made for battles like this
- Paladin: Shell2 all the way
- Wizard: Drain
- Berserker, Witch: not so useful here
Vengeance:
- Priest: Regen2 x2 + caution will win this battle
- Ninja: Blink can allow you to dodge Vengeance
- Paladin: Safe2 all the way
- Witch: Last-minute Stun makes this a pushover
- Berserker: Yell + a solid finishing blow
- Wizard: Rasp will make him use only Vengeance, which can be useful
See, this is the kind of thing you need to consider when jumping into battle. Optionally, you could just use the (suboptimal, IMO) party I'm using for my walkthrough and duplicate my strategy. _________________
