I don't care how you worded it, you probably just offended the poor guy that loves his classic.

not just woman's interest. If women played it, this means there are chances that, if men played it as much as any other games, more human individuals played it throughout the world, which coincidentally means the game was more popular. I was merely raising the point that games that are remade times and times again are not only classics but also popular.
And re-read statement D, i didnt enforce it, it was a personnal doubt, nothing else.

Sounds like he's making the awful assumption that zero women play video games; therefore, if any women play a video game, then everybody must play that game. Because the only way a girl would play a game would be if nobody wasn't playing.

JARS, you've got the brain of a four-year-old boy, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it.

Eh... Sorry. Confused They did this for final fantasy and almost for Dragon Quest! WHY NOT PHANTASY STAR! Pissed off!

Have you played Final Fantasy H and the original Final Fantasy? I would hardly call that a port. Fenrir updated and changed many things, and playing the original and playing FFH is really two different experiences.

What you propose is porting Phantasy Star II to the OHR. You didn't say that you were going to do any updates or changes to it. You just want to put the game on an engine it wasn't designed for. Most people won't play a game that is a carbon copy of another game, particularly if the copy is poorly-done, which this project would have a high probability of being due to the fact that you are not experienced with the engine.

Another reason it is not a good idea is because of the sheer amount of work that needs to be done. Phantasy Star II is a huge game, larger than most OHR RPGs to date. It would take a lot of work and man power to essentially create the game again.

I highly suggest that you don't do this project until you've discovered an actual objective to it. In the meanwhile, I suggest that you work on getting acquainted with the engine with small, managable projects.

I didn't assume that no women played phantasy star, I assumed that women are less inclined to the world of video games in general, and that often, the games who sell the most are those who can get to interest both genres. Diablo II was a marvellous example in that (no concrete stats to approve this except blizzwrd's conclusions) several women got to play it. It was a first "woman hit" in this genre, and thus, WITHOUT REDUCING MALE ACTIVITY. So overally, more people go to play that game. Women playing games is not always an indicator, but random non-video gamer women knowing the title of a game? that's sort of a big clue. Now ask around to all your non-video gamer chicks if they heard the names "phantasy star, final fantasy" which one will get the highest score? you got it, that's what I meant,

PNC: It's very funny because you say the thing I've exactly said: jus tbecause I didn't know it doesnt mean its not a classic. Fully read point D and you'll see that its written there.

Female audience is a terrible fanbase to judge if you are a man. The only reason more females play Final Fantasy is because it has a larger male base to spread the word, and the characters are feminine and sensitive enough to appeal to female tastes.

...

Plus there's the yaoi fanart that's probably littering the internet intrusively.
