What do you think so far? Ar worked 2 or 3 hours on these... Still worried about the flames though...

If you want to get a closer look you will still need to change them to .bmp files. as image shack hosts them as .png
These are Sprites for Teenage Kain, his standing, weak, and dead poses.

Tell me how I did!

This forum has a function that allows you to right click on pictures to zoom in on them. The only thing you'll need to do is take the direct link from imageshack and put [img] tags around it yourself. If I'm think right, you're using the one that has the for message board etc. posting. That one has a URL attached to the image, so when we click on it, it opens a new window with the imageshack page.

Having them as a .png file is actually better than a .bmp for putting them up on the web due to its smaller size, though you will need to turn it into a .bmp when you import it.

This is a humongous improvement over the previous one. I think the flames are okay, but I can't really give any comments on how to make them better. Of course, the hard thing is that your flames have to stay static since the OHR doesn't support any extra frames.

I'm still having problems with his right leg. If you do the walking animation, I might be able to see better, but right now, I'm confused by it. I'm still not quite sure which joint you are thinking about with the leg parts, it seems that they would be the calf part, but if you try to hold your leg out like that, it wouldn't work very well. I definitely seems like his right leg is a thigh in the weak pose. If that's what you want, then his right leg part should be higher, but I think that would look a little weird and unbalanced. I would be inclined to say that the weak pose works much better than the standing pose, but having parts switch roles in the middle of the character's animation might confuse the player. It's a hard design to realize fully.

It seems that in his weak pose, the flames look more like an aura. Maybe you could play around and see if you could make it a little more flame like, though just make it a smaller flame. If there's room in your palette, you might be able to make it a darker flame.

For the dead pose, due to the awkward nature of the 32x40 box that you have to work in, I think it would be better if you tried to think of a way that the character could die vertically as opposed to horizontally. I've generally found that works better, though I've seen some good horizontal dead poses (I believe that Fenrir uses horizontal dead poses in TSSE. You could look at those for ideas.) Just right now it looks rather scrunched, and you've lost any sort of perspective that you had, and it makes it look like a straight side shot. Remember that the stage is set as if a camera is 45 degrees from the ground and the sky, and if you make things look like they are straight on, it will look awkward.

Your flames finally look good on your 'floating' stance. I suggest dithering up your weak stance so that you still have burning flames, but just embering past the yellow mark.

For your death animation, I actually suggest just dropping all of the body parts on the ground as if they were actually balls, since a dead character probably has no spiritual/magical/neo-tek willpower to support a humanoid pose at that point. Plus, it would look cooler in my mind. You can even put burn marks on the body parts, suggesting that Kain got "burned out".

I kinda like the weak poses aura look, it seems to show that he is barely hanging in there. I will definantly change his dead pose. I a already have all of his younger selves animations finished, he can not float whn he is a kid, blus his eyes are not covered by the black vizers. THe main reason for these looking better, is I found out how to use MSPaints RIPPING effect to my advantage.

I will release a small play demo swoon, for some to be able to see his younger self in action!

I am still working on Indego's(Rune) battle sprites. So it will take a little more time.

I bet any thing you all will like the twists THIS game's story will take. I have been writing it all down in a notebook, making sure I get ALL Ideas in it, for a great story.

I won't spoil any thing, but I am sure it will be liked, since it doesnt start off the game with you knowing nothing, and not caring!

* I need a GOOD tile map tutorial, the one that comes with the ohr just isnot going to cut it...

I know that, but you still want to remove some pixels around the reddish edge so that it looks like weakening flames instead of a force field.

Don't act so spoiled. I follow the best map tile tutorial in the world and I still have to practice to make them look good. This goes double for you.
