Don't know what you're so worried about. The last reply to this topic was back in November and no progress has been made on this since then. _________________ LJ.Art

| I have nothing against one no lifer who decides to do rips-off and make a game out of it. It will suck, in my opinion, but that's one man's decision. What worries me is if they make a database which gives some availibility to them. MANY people who would've had more fun and give much better resulting experience will fall for the easiness of it and end up with a bad game with ripped resources. That's what my true concern is. And though this most may have died long ago, the idea of creating a resource database for OHR hasn't died, I'm pretty sure there are many of them anyway... |

The idea may still be around, but apparently so is lazyness to even create one. But the truth is that the OHR community has had resource packs before. There was one on RPG Online that was made up of almost completely of ripped material but I can honestly say that fewer than a handful of games showed up with any material from that pack (including W:P1, which I've never been secret about getting hype.bam from there), and I certainly don't remember anyone taking graphics from it.
IMHO your crusade against resource packs is wasted energy. Energy better spent on making a game. _________________ LJ.Art

I think the crusade is wasted for different reasons: namely that the Ohrrpgce is not exactly attracting new users right now. Most likely everyone who will ever use the Ohrrpgce to make a serious attempt at a game is already familiar with it. _________________ Tower Defense Game |

I think your point is slightly narrow and blind Rinku. Truth is, people might be interested in OHRRPGCE if they heard about it. You may quote me here when I say that after these several years spent looking for "the" way, I've come back here because this engine has a lot more potential than say, RPGMaker which is TOO built-up and has, in my opinion, a bad scripting language... Personnal opinion, but this might be shared, and though RIGHT NOW no one is actually showing up on here, I've heard some old newbies from over here might show up here... who knows, maybe new users? But ya, I realize I've gotten passionnate about a fight that isn't really a real issue Sorry all... I tend to do that, I've got that inner fire whenever I care for something, and I just over reacted Thaès 100% me... |

We just don't want you to accidentally alienate yourself barking about something that no one else on the board really cares about.

| I am actually thinking about seeing if 4colorrebellion.com will check out some of our more famous and well developed artistic games, because they really like indie games that have a good art style or know good gameplay, which some of our OHR games are (I'm thinking of Darkmoor Dungeon, heh.) |

Thanks! I hope you don't mind waiting for the sequel, though. The original game will be included "inside" of the sequel, but it will be updated:
* The ripped tracks will be replaced with original songs.
* There will be attack graphics.
* Some of the uglier enemy graphics will be redone completely. (All of the above were intended features in the original, but time constraints didn't allow them.)
* There is a chance that I'll freshen up the map graphics and add more variety to the dungeon.
* There will probably be at least one new hero type.
* Various other fixes or updates, such as spell descriptions (which didn't exist a year ago). _________________

| I've actually just downloaded that game... suggest I wait for the sequel including the revamp or should I play it? |

*shrug* I've played through it about five times and I'll probably replay it for the sequel. I can only recommend playing it. _________________

If, historically, so many people don't even use public resources, what's the point in putting them there? The point has been made before, but I feel obliged to remind. _________________ SACRE BLEU!
