Granted that I'm probably not going to get a chance to play FF12 (or kingdom hearts 2, or *insert recent awesome Playstation 2 game here*) the prospect of playing a dumbed down 2D version with amateur graphics on a developing engine that's a bit behind the times according to others isn't really that intriguing.
It seems to me that you've been inspired by Final Fantasy 12. It's a common thing in creative work; when you see something that's done well, you usually want to do something just like it. But it's a hard thing to not just copy what you've seen.
If you sit down and think about it, I'm sure that you can come up with a good storyline that you could put in your own world with your own battle system. _________________ Calehay |

Hey, guys, I'm gonna make an OHR game based on Dragon Quest 5! I'll just scrap all the good parts and leave the story! Hmm....would anyone here play through a game which consists of 3000 text boxes and nothing more?
Just checking, before I start! _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1

Bah, just let the guy do what he wants. I would prefer an original story myself, but I don't see a problem with keeping some of the graphics and scripts. |

Ok, here's an update:
first of all, the new name:
FINAL FANTASY GALAXY
I scrapped the whole thing and started over, I already have the entire story in mind.
I kept the couple enemy graphics I made, and some NPCs, but ng else, I'm remaking, new characters, maps, backdrops, heros, etc...
It'll be a new kind of final fantasy, not like all the other which are in a um... "futuristic past" or however you can think of the usual FF setting.
It's also going to feature some outer space stuff (obviously, by the title) and lots of twists.
But, I'm still asking for some enemy graphics and some Walkabout help... (or any other help you'd be kind enough to offer).
Thank you.

Hrm... The title oddly reminds me of a certain upcoming Super Mario game.
But sounds cool. It'd be interesting to see how you tie in your game to the Final Fantasy universe (moogles, black mages, crystals, chocobos, etc). |

true... I forgot about the new Super Mario...
oh well.
Well, it will be in the future, kind of like a mix between Star Ocean and Final Fantasy VII or something...
Also, the hero is sent from our universe (galaxy) to the one where the story takes place (I'm not spoiling anything, it happens in the intro movie).
=P
I'll probably upload the intro on my website, only as a preview.
I'll see. _________________ http://www.madsoftgames.net/
