|
|
Ok, I got this really cool idea for a battle system. Its going to go something like this.
There is going to be a menu with a choice Attack, Magic, and Item.
Now if you choose attack, its going to do the attach based on the weapon, with a certain percentage of a Critical Hit, this percentage is going to rise everytime you level up.
Now Magic menu is going to be really unique(at least that I know of), the attack is going to be based on the item that you equip. These items are going to be known as Mana Crystals.
There is going to be Fire Crystal, Land Crystal, Thunder Crystal, Water Crystal, Healing Crystal, and any other that I might come up with. You will be able to equip only one crystal at a time.
The battle is going to be one-on-one, meaning you encounter a monster, you battle that monster(no group attacks or anything)
So what do you think? Is there already a game that uses this kind of system? Give me your opinion on it. _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

Final Fantasy 9 uses a system that is practically identical to this, except you can learn the abilities.
Golden Sun's Djinni system is almost 100% identical. |

Golden sun's you have 2 different ways of using spells, one is by equiping Djinis, the other is normal spells. Plus, you have the option of Equiping 5 djinis at a time(I believe its 5, I played that game a long time ago)
In my system, the only way of casting spells is by equiping these crystals.
I haven't played FF9 _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

Reminds me of Grandia. Every character could equip an egg that would give them a different set of spells. _________________ My name is...

I think this would still be cool battle system if I can program it with plotscripts, it may not be unique(I have only played one game that was mantioned above, and that was golden sun, so I have no idea on the other game's battle systems)
And like I mentioned above, your magic attack will depend on the item you equip, if you don't have item equiped you won't be able to use magic(or special, depending on what I decided to name it)
Oh yea, I should mention that this battle system is going to be in Thalantos: Underground Escape(check Announcement section for a tech demo without battles) _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.
