Okay, now there's an RPG that's been in planning stages in my mind for over two years now, and recently I've felt I should make it. Now before you tell me you want me to die (Gizmog1), I'm going to say this is a SERIOUS RPG. Anyways, for a long time now it was going to be a modern day RPG named "Crystiam," the story about three kids and a powerful crystal, but just about this year I started going in the direction of medievel sci-fi (a la Star Wars, except much more medievel and much less sci-fi) and have gotten very far (at least in planning stages). However, when thinking of a name, I always thought that would be easy and I could put it off until later. Unfortunately, when thinking about one today, I came up with squat. My brother came up with "Kingdom Wars" about a year ago, which works, although my idea is already enough like Star Wars and the name would just convince people it was a rip-off. So I'm asking to get help from you guys for a name. I may not use the name directly, but I'm hoping I can get some kind of inspiration from your suggestions. Here is the main plot of the story:
There are three towns that are separated by an ocean that, when lines are drawn to each, they form a triangle (not that that's of any significance to the plot, just to give you an idea). These three towns are part of a Republic. The main town is called Alpha, in which a young prince lives a life of boredom, with his only hobby being engineering. But one day, King Werdna of the Oceanic Empire came to Alpha, demanding that the king, King James, who is father of the prince, give him the town, because the town of Alpha has the largest army. King James declined, so Werdna threw him, his wife, and the prince into the dungeon under their castle, inspecting his pockets for any keys. The young prince then uses his wrench to open the bars because they were built by him specifically for that in the case the key was lost. He then escapes out of the dungeon and quickly leaves Alpha, which is now officially King Werdna's. When his parents asked what they should do, he told his dad to fight Werdna because he was so angry that his dad had lost Alpha, unfortunately, the result of him telling his father this would later make things worse. So the basic plot is that the prince must gather a group of friends, and when they are strong enough, to go back to King Werdna's town and defeat him.
Well, there's the plot. I didn't think it would be so long, but I suppose the more specific the better. Sorry you had to read all that (assuming you did). Well, anyways, if you have any ideas, post them here. |

Too close to "Christ, I Am" for my tastes. Biblical students here might know the significance of that. I'd call it "Krystallinium", if you're gonna stick with that kind of a name. |

Why not go with that? | Like I said, the plot has significantly changed since I came up with that name. It no longer involves a crystal. |

You might call the game "Triad" or "Trinity states" Trinity something... Making allusion to the cities being aranged like a triangle.
Trinity Trouble? Trinity Kingdom. Or something with Tri in it. That's what's in, man.
Although, as for the plot, I can't see how a King could just waltz in and demand another king's army without him being thrown in that king's dungeon. How did King Werdna manage to throw them in the dungeon? Is he some sort of big monster who overpowered their guards and threw them in himself? _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I'm pretty sure that any three towns that do not lie along a single straight line form the vertices of a triangle.
I hate to be the guy putting down ideas, but I do think that the story needs worked on a bit. What is this large army of Alpha doing while King Werdna jails their true king? Maybe he does so quickly and secretly, casting some kind of spell on the guards present, and then it is 'officially announced' that the true king has gone on official business to one of the other kingdoms (the Oceanic kingdom, say), and that he has ordered King Werdna to be his deputy...? That's just a goofy idea come up with in the last minute, I didn't really think about it at all.
How important is the third kingdom for the game? If it is not terribly important to the game or the republic, I'd say to drop the idea of emphasizing the threeness in the title. Sorry I can't offer much constructive, but I've got to go. |

I sort of thought the same thing. Good suggestion. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Well, I wasn't being too descriptive with the plot I suppose. Basically, once King Werdna comes and they start to argue over who's kingdom it is, the Alphian guards start to attack. Although he is human, he is very powerful, and although the Alpha army is large, it's weak. Not only that, but Werdna brought his own army with him fighting in the rest of the castle, and he has the strongest soldiers. However, thinking ahead, the actual fighting started inside the castle in the entrance, far away enough from the throne room that the sounds of swords clashing wouldn't be heard from there, but from rooms near the entrance. But his powers alone are so strong that most of the Alphian army fled or pledged alliegence to him because they were so frightened. Due to all these strengths with Oceania's army, the takeover was very quick, and during the conversation between Werdna and James, Werdna's whole army entered the throne room and quickly defeated the numerous guards there. By this point Alpha is pretty much part of the Oceanic empire, so Werdna gets some Alphian traitors to lead him to the dungeon (which is his only use for them because they are much weaker than most of his soldiers), and he grabs the keys and throws them in there.
Sorry if there are still kinks in the plot, I was watching Seinfeld while writing it. But I do have pretty much all of it figured out. |

That m akes much more sense. You needed to be more descriptive.
Don't expect a plot that has been just concieved to be perfect. The most perfect plots take years to correct. o.o
Incidentally, stories that are thrown together and produced the same year rarely work even in the professional world. Spin offs and sequels suck in general when they are thrown together really fast, and I think I know why hey allow this. It's because they want to make money, and the faster the better. I have begun ranting again.
So take a little time every day for the next several months to develop it.
personally, I like taking a few years to develop a plot. o.o _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Hmm...here's some titles I can suggest.
Alpha Triangle (sounds modern, eh?) or
Kryzalid (some kinda weird name for a crystal)
Well, that's all. Whee! _________________ St. SeiyaRyu
