Whenever I try to go past a certain point in Notate, the program freezes. Is there a limit to how long a song can be in BAM? Or is this a Notate limitation? If so, will this be eliminated when OHR goes to Windows? Or is there just something wrong with my computer? I was lucky that that part of the song could be split up over two songs without too much loss... |

Actually, I used to have this problem too. It seemed to be in certain songs with certain instruments, where it used to freeze. I have no idea what used to actually cause it, though. _________________ Current Projects:

I can't say I ever liked Notate, really. I can't exactly say if there is a limit in the program, because I only ever made ONE song using it and it was three notes and I got bored. BUT some of the really long songs can turn into BAM format without losing length, from what I can tell you from experience. I recently reformatted a bunch of Yanni music to BAM, and other than losing a lot of quality, they kept every note. I think it might be the size of the program, Notate, which is limitting your songs. Personally, I prefer to use Anvil Studio and convert the Midi format to BAM. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I don't know about Notate specifically, but BAMs are limited to 32000 bytes.
In OHR for Windows, MIDIs are, for all intents and purposes, unlimited in length. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

I will be ever so glad to leave bam to its grave. And Notate in the plot right next to it.
I've noticed it cutting off longer things too, like when I tried importing Enchantae's Tower. It didn't just f*&@ the quality (not that it's the BEST piece of music ever) but then it cut the whole thing short after about 10 minutes. The file size limitation seems to explain it the best. I assumed then that it was a length limit, as well. _________________ SACRE BLEU!
