A month or two back I started looking through my previous games. Then I threw up a little in my mouth. I remember saying before that I would never ever ever ever make another Chicken Farm release again, but since I apparently am, I may as well rot in hell now.
Anyway I've updated a lot of stuff (well, everything) and made it a genuinely more involving game.
If anyone's interested I'm uploading a 16 day demonstration version on Friday for anyone who wants to sample the changes I've made.
(oh, before anyone asks, this is not the sequel I was yammering on about last year) _________________

Seriously, how do you do that? Aren't you suppose to roast or something down there? I mean, how does a pile of ashes rot?

Well, I've never played the orignal, so is this anything like Harvest Moon? I've always liked those games, though not because I got to take care of chickens... Ah, well, it doesn't sound like a conventional RPG, so I may just like it for being different.

I remember being really excited about this, because it seemed so inovative to me back then. It is a very cool sort of game to work on, sill. Game.exe works on my main computer now, so I guess I'll give this a run through. How exciting. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I enjoyed it very much. Well, I enjoyed dressing as a chicken. Jun, I'm somewhat rusty, but if you want any help with anything, I'll be happy to help. |

I've uploaded the game now for everyone to 'enjoy'. I'd really appreciate any feedback (particulary if you find a glitch or two).
Yes JoeMan. It's very similar to Harvest Moon (just to be safe though, I recomend reading the readme and ingame help)
And yes Jabbercat. I believe you can still dress as a chicken. _________________

Well, I played it, and I didn't really have a clue what to do. But, I did get to dress as a chicken!
On a more serious note, (you're probably aware of this bug) but the 'lump' deside the hero's house, when activated changes the hero's pic and palette.
It's an interesting game, I'm looking forward to it maturing. (and hopefully learning how to play it) |

well seems to me that you did autosave before resuming the player, its a no-no, the game appears frozen.
it happens when you go to help screen, and after the the demo ends, you load the game, and the game appears frozen.
please check your script and make sure you resume the player before using autosave, or any save of its kind.
otherwise its a nice game, although its annoying that its a bit slow. _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

Feedback
I liked the menu and the tile spiral transition, though it is a bit slow. The hero's walkabout speed of 2 is EXTREMELY slow! Have mercy on the player!! It looks like an interesting system, but most of the action appears to happen behind the scenes in the script, and not much is seen on the player's end. Will write that off to it being a work in progress.
Also, concerning what you wrote in the readme, you can easily define all 3 keys--spacebar, enter, ctrl--using the constant 'use key' if that helps. |

This game is not alf bat. Just a few things that need to be fixed:
1. As already said, fix the script do the player is resumed before the autosave.
2. Use original graphics. For now, ripped is fine, but for the minal version do your own graphics.
3. The town needs more life. Again, its fine for the 16 day demo, but after that something neds to happen. In general, add more people, houses, maybe a pub or something.
4. increace the ammount of steps. Days are too short and if you have several chickens, you can't do everything.
5. There a fox heads on the shelf in the shop. Why, oh why?
These are just some hints as to what to do after this. Overall, quite a good peice of work. I thinks it's still too early to review it yet. |
