Be nice, I'm not technically a newbie, only to this site....making me....a newbie. Anyhow, I'm pretty well-versed with OHR as it ran on my previous two computers, but this one happens to have Windows XP (more of a blessing than a curse, unlike 98 vs 95). I no longer have random in-game crashes like my Compaq (DAMN THE NAME!) had, but BAM music just won't play. I know a decent amount about BAM and how it's written and what it uses for playback, but all my midi devices are configured the same way that they were on the old comp and I'm havin no dice. Midis work, PLAYBAM.exe and in-game BAMs don't. My computer hates BAM. What's wrong with it? _________________ -Ain't no gettin' offa this train we're on

Windows XP and Windows 2000 have DOS music compability issues. You can fix it by downloading VDMSound. Install it, then right click CUSTOM or GAME and select "Run with VDMS". Ta-da! You now have sound. The price? *Slight* slowdown in the OHRRPGCE (You won't really notice it in GAME unless for some reason the OHR ran very very fast before, but you'll see it in CUSTOM, particularly when drawing graphics). _________________
