I'm kind of trying to think of ways to make yourself more constructive, and I'm curious, how many of you eat and drink while you're making your games? Do you think it helps, or do you spend all your time throwing cheetos into the air and catching them? I for one, love to have some cookies and milk while I'm working, I think it really helps me to think better.

(Sorry if this is a little off topic, but game design seemed a bad place for it, and it is regarding the eating and game constructing habits of OHR'rs)

I find that when I eat I get absolutely nothing done. However, if I'm hungry I usually can't concentrate until I get something to eat.

I dunno, I need some kind of motivation, because I usually get off to a strong start, but I burn out over time. I have so many abandoned ideas that I really liked with many hours of work put into them.

I think opening custom.exe is the biggest obstacle I usually have to overcome. Once I get that far it's smooth sailing.

It depends on how I'm feeling...

This applies to anything I do, whether I'm clacking away at the computer working on an ohr game (which I rarely do nowadays - regretfully Sad...), or slicing and dicing tomatoes, or disembowelling large shellfish: If my stomach is growling at me like a crazed coyote, it is a distraction, and nonetheless I feel weak and unable to think clearly. If my stomach is too full, on the other hand, I feel bloated and like doing nothing. If I feel it would help, I like to snack on whatever it is I feel would plug the hole in my guts, whether that's a steak and lobster, or a simple poutine. That usually gets my mind off my hunger and gives me that extra kick to make it through. However, sometimes going without food enables me to endure for long periods of time, like if you held your arm out eventually it would go numb and you'd forget about the tiredness. I've still yet to figure out an optimal meal plan, one that is satisfactory yet still allows for maximum efficiency.

I usually do eat at my computer, but it's been proven that I work better with a soda handy.

Pepsi, most often.

Oh yes, I always work better with a soda, as well.

But mine is Coke.

It dosn't matter. after about an hour and a half of work my brain shuts down I resort to a blank stare. I found coffee helps, or a block of chocolate, which i will usually finish while staring blankly.

I often have a glass of water, but that's it. I don't get a lot done with food around. Water is healthy, though!

I never work on anything and eat at the same time (mostly due to a very bad attention span Raspberry! ). I will pop a movie in my DVD Rom while I eat and continue work afterward, but mostly I guzzle an entire 12 pack of Cherry Coke or Nestea Raspberry Cools in a matter of hours.

I never eat, but I like to watch TV while I work. I find that makes the tedious experience of, say, cranking out 10 slightly varied maptiles a lot more palatable.

I drink Coke, but I usually don't eat while working. I DO blast my music while I'm working, though.

I drink soda while I work. The Pepsi and company are preferred. However, I do not eat while I work. When ever I leave my "lair/hole/den" to do chores, I find the time to eat some where in between chores. I found out that eating while at my keyboard makes the keys greesy or saucy. No one wants a dirty key board. Sad...

Of course, picking one's nose can make the keys dirty as well, and I can't seem to stop that habbit.
