I posted some hints and tips to solve the sphinx puzzle in:
http://orchieluv.castleparadox.com/sphinx.txt
That should pretty much point you to the right direction, but if you're still stuck, you can find the answer here:

Ugh... stuck again. I think I need to find the forbidden city. I assume it's somewhere on the beaches after you get off the bus, but I've searched and can't seem to find it.
Other than that, I think I've done everything else. I've got the outer and middle barriers out of the way. A little hint would be nice. =) |

The Forbidden City is accessible via Neverwhere (the eastern portal). However, you will need to activate the portal generator first. _________________ "I am Collins. uh...
If you make a habit of using soulstealing, you should have it by now; the Guardian and the Sniper have crystal. If you don't, you have to do it the hard way. Buy it from Confucius at Manzanar. _________________ "I am Collins. From my position in the moon's orbit, I watched Armstrong and Aldrin land and walk on the surface. Oh, okay, thanks. I knew I should have stolen from Guardian, but it kept failing so I just took him out. I didn't think about trying the sniper though...
Oh well... |

Well, I finally finished BO.
Some things I didn't like:
o The mines during the sniper part. I felt it could have taken like half your HP's and still have been very difficult, but not so frustrating.
o Random battles seemed a little too frequent at some points (usually while I was searching for something), but that wasn't really a major issue, and more than likely it's just a personal preference.
Some things I liked:
o Innovation - Sniper Fight
o Maptiles, of course
o Nice Stylish Animation (Best on the OHR that I've seen, I think)
o Great Battle/Equipment System (I would have loved to see more bosses, maybe some optional ones or some guarding some of the more powerful items)
Questions:
Is God supposed to come off as flamboyant? Because to me he seemed slightly homosexual. Maybe a closet gay?
Did you take inspiration for Manzanar from Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire? Because it really had the same layout and feel. That was my favorite series of all time, and Manzanar really reminded me of that experience. |

God is supposed to be somewhat flamboyant... but definitely not gay. I'm not quite sure why you have that impression.
Yeah, manzanar was greatly inspired by QfG2. I started drawing the tileset around the same time I replayed the game last year. I liked the idea of an arabic trade city crowded with merchants and market goers. My personal favorite in the series is QfG1, but in terms of city design, QfG2 probably has the best one in the series. I also liked the fact that they have random pedestrians NPCs coming in out the marketplace and the occasional passerbys in the tunnels; they make the city feels alive.
edit: abit off-topic. This is probably already old news, but in case you haven't heard it: there's an unofficial QfG2 remake project in the works. I think it's near completion. Details can be found here:

That's sweet. The first game was always my favorite, too. The atmosphere and the characters are unmatched. It's the end-all adventure game, in my opinion.
You did a good job recreating a bit of the QFG2 map. As soon as I walked in I was like, "Damn, I'm in Shapier!" |

Hello there,
I had been working on the game again during summer break. It was finished sometime around early August, but I was unable to release it due to CP's downtime. The updated version includes a mini-expansion (30mins-1hour of gameplay) that is accessible from the mandala wheel (instead of sending you right into a boss fight in the previous version.) I also took the time to refurbish all of the walkabout sprites. This is pretty much the last update for BO.

(phew, it finally works! CP was giving me hooky "Hacking Attempt" error messages before during the initial release.)
note: Due to Setu's computer situation, I'm afraid I'll have to rely on ripped tracks for the expansion area.

Dude, my computer's fine. I've just been step-recording ever since the Win95 comp died. I kinda like step recording better, since it gives me more liberty to plan out how the song will go instead of playing whatever. _________________
