ive been looking at some games and saw a LOT of contest ideas and was wandering if any other little peaple (like me) had any ideas for some that they just want to get out in the open. personally i had an idea for a contest: no fighting what-so-ever (i was inspiered by this topic: http://castleparadox.com/cgi-bin/viewtopic.php?t=2338&start=0
(and violance WILL be allowed such as like a murder or something)
so go ahead and just shout it out. _________________

Me and some of the other admins have been discussing some contest ideas, and we've got some pretty good ones. I dont know if I should discuss them specifically (in case a surprise theme is intended to be part of the contest).
We'll start pumping out a few contests once things settle down over here. _________________ You got film in my video game!

Maybe a contest dedicated to puzzle games. The OHR does lend itself to the creation of such games. Sheep Rancher for instance. Aside from that, there is always art and composer competitions, as well as games that must contain certain elements or themes, for example, the game may have to have a toaster (or something equally irrelevent) in it somewhere. |

I think we should quit with the Terrible Game Contests and hold Experimental Game Contests instead. |

I am wondering when the next 48 hour game contest is to be held... This time I shall use all the time I have and acctually finish my game. Lots of coffee. I wouldn't mind a fix. _________________

48 Hour Contests are usually in mid-summer, July or so. |

i was thinking about a kind of artist's contest. it was going to be a detailing contest, where contestants would be given/choose a location (real or fake, preferably real) and try to make the area as detailed as possible, ranging from the movement of things (fans rotating, blinking lights, etc...) to interactivity (flipping switches, moving boxes, moving with escalators). contestants would be given a month to complete their work.
i never really got off the ground with this because i didn't have the time to think up the rules, but i think in the near future you might see something like this. if anyone wants to help out with judging (if this ever picks up) or the picking of rules, then just PM me. _________________

So basically it would be a contest to make a map and fill it with as much stuff as you can? That sounds pretty cool, actually. I would totally enter this contest.
It'd be best if everyone got to make their own location though. Being restricted to a real or realistic location is lame.

That would be awesome. I would also enter this contest. _________________ Locked

Maybe like a Creepiest Character contest, where you make a creepy character. Or like the where you make the most offensive game. I had a really good one in mind, which I was gonna host, but I just forgot it.
Thsi isn't it, but I brought this up before, the monthly signature contest. _________________ The Following Statement is True.

well i was going to leave it open as an option. i would suggest a location and give pictures, but contestants could still do their own place. _________________
