thats the biggest burn I ever heard. I honestly believed that it was all over, hehe.
but we have no proof until IM admits it.
but about changes, man, I want to see couple of people here get banned for a month, or at least recieve a warning from admins.
oh well, if IM reads this, than here is a little message: "Good job man, you tricked everyone!" _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

This is probably the lowest trick ever. Sorry Y, but its not worthy of praise (Unless you're being sarcastic, in which case I withdraw my comment). I was personally looking forward to a change in leadership. After all, it's not just CN he fooled, but almost the entire community.
Angry post aside, I agree that CP is going downhill. There have been too many promised games and very little actually released. Aside from a change of admins, with a few execptions, This site needs games and reviews or else it will become another mindless site of idiots. I say bring back the general discussion, if only to support the other boards and bring newbies up to speed.
Thats a little of topic, so I'll conclude by saying that IM should make a public apology to CN, and everyone else he fooled. |

This community could be run by kittens and you all should still be able to make games. Seriously, it seems like you're blaming the admins for it being dull around here. What made the community great was that everyone tried to make great games, help each other out and improve their skills. Now the focus has shifted to complaining about how things are being run. Theoretically, all the admins could just stop moderating and the people who want the community to suceed would continue to make games. But that's not how it is. We've grown less independant, and seem to need a reason to make games, other than the love of doing such, which many people have lost. So before you start listing off the ways the admins have failed, consider the ways YOU have failed. If you truly care, you won't just shoot back with a smartass reply, but consider how YOU could make this place better. If not, I will kindly guesture towards the door.
Reguarding IM's actions, I can't honestly support them. I was under the impression that CN knew about everything and was just adding to the illusion that CP was changing hands. I was pretty surprised myself when CN posted that he was lied to in his LJ. But for everything IM has done wrong, there are about 50 things he has done right. And you can't honestly refute that. And the two things he has done that I would disagree with were between him and CN; personally. While you may view it as politics, it isn't. It's part of their personal lives. _________________ You got film in my video game!

1. It wasn't entirely personal, as it involved Castle PAradox itself, which is a community we all take part in .
2. Just because he's done some development work for CP doesn't mean that this joke was downright cruel and decieving. It's like Cliffard books, where the big red doof sits on someone's house, then rescues the birdies from the bird's nest and all is forgiven, forgoing thousands of dollers of property damage.
I knew about the "joke", but I guess I was a sucker and bought into it. I thought, as you did, that maybe CN knew and was just going with it, or perhaps that IM was going half way (honestyl, with CN's overall care and disipline for the members of the community, combined with IM's enthusiasm with the outer and techinal workings, this could very well be unstoppble), but it seems I was wrong.
As for game making, sure we can continue to make games even the community were a bunch of butt-hugs, but that doesn't stop the issue at hand. Games take a while to make, so in the meantime it doesn't seem too bad to have things going on in the community that supports it. That's like saying a church group should only discuss churchy things, rather then go out paintballing or develop social bonds. Also, game making is a lot more fun when I know there are people who will provide feedback as to how I can improve (and I can adverties and get an ego trip also). And, if I just handed it uot ot random people, how effective woudl their comments be? The reason I still cling on to this community is that thre are people here whose opinions I respect, and I know that if I give them a piece of work the feedback will be exceptional. IF the community had been only for gamemaking, I wouldn't know the different sides of things.
That's it. The joke was cruel, no doubt. While I'm glad to see IM's advancements on the web site, it would be nice if more consideration were put into the members who were using it. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

It was a gradual process, much like what happens to a frog when you place it in cold water and slowly heat it up. As for the whole joke thing, I agree that it was cruel and pushing April Fools' Day a little too far, but that's what happens when people leave themselves vulnerable and get their hopes up. _________________ Play Horrible Fantasy NOW! |

I take my hat off to inferior minion, what a jape! If you'd done it on or at least around april fools day then it'd be even more legendary!
I think people should see the funny side of this rather than sulk about it. _________________ Put it in your favourites:

I see the joke was on april fools day! Hoorah.
Whats all this about about a public apology to everyone, pah, red tape.
Something a little bit worse than IM's (brilliant!) joke is the fact that people's games' get ripped all the time. What you have to remember is that any game still took alot of effort and time to make, what with all the graphics, game testing/balancing, music and storyline, and the fact that people don't acknowledge that more often, and rip games at all, deserves a public apology more than a one-off masterstroke of a joke.
And yes I know some games are so baaadddd their unplayable, but they still took hours to make I'm sure, damn making games is a lot of work. End rant. _________________ Put it in your favourites:

I'm no legal lawyer, but I'd say that refusing to sell something after already agreeing on (and I believe someone said he saved up money for) is worse than copyright infringement amongst freeware. _________________

Nope.
1) You have a legal right in the US to back out of selling and/or buying something as long as no legal contract has been signed.
2) No legal contract was signed between CN and IM, unless they drafted a contract, and personally signed to it.
3) CN has enough money to buy his own server if he wants. Nobody is stopping him. |

However Fyre, would you deny that leading someone on in such a manner, having them arrange shipping requirements, and presumably make arrangements and be prepared to have the server, just to have it all of a sudden be "LOL JOKE!", is, although not illegal, still a dickhead move on IM's part? |

Whats funny about it is the black comedy. CN genuinely thought he was incharge, aw man it's kinda sad for CN, but IM, what a joker!
If you can't see the humour here then your being blinded by the cruelness of it all. _________________ Put it in your favourites:
