We currently have no restrictions on user avatars. We have had relatively few issues with this, fortunately, and those have been dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
However, some have recently pushed the bounds of good taste. Here I am specifically referring to rpgspotKahn, though I'm sure there have been others. I frequently use UT public computers to browse these forums and I find it unacceptable that members use avatars that are not "safe for public viewing."
I think we have a good idea of where this line stands. There is no formal rule on this, but if people are going to continue to push the envelope on avatars, there very well ought to be.
Kahn, kindly replace your pornographic avatar. Admins, please consider a formal decision on this issue.

I did not see it as porn though... But I guess it was indecent.
Riz should also change his avatar as I see no difference from mine to his. Its just as indecent.

Thank you for your understanding and quick response.
It is a common mistake to think that pornography must involve fully exposed body parts. One definition is "material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement" (m-w.com), which that avatar certainly was.

I don't see my avatar as being "offensive" unless you are a 5-year old. It's not even THAT revealing, and its size isn't that big. If someone can give me valid reasons to change it, I'll do so.

Too late, fag  . So like today I was checking CP at work (while I was supposed to be working, of course) and for some reason I didn't hear my boss walking down the aisle and it just so happened that what he saw the instant before I hurriedly closed the window was your avatar. So I had to bite the bullet and admit I was slacking off, but he didn't believe my story!!! And the whole time he thought I was looking at pornography. I told him the picture couldn't have been big enough for pornography and he said that I must've been looking at thumbnails. So then he launched into this whole lecture about honesty in the workplace and stuff. I got tired of him talking so I just said I was looking at porn, and he fired me. This is all your fault, Riz, so you damn well better change that avatar before something like this happens to someone else.
