I say let as many teams work on them as they want. Everyone sees games differently, and has different favorite parts, so the various condensations would each have a different focus, and wouldn't be the same experience.

I'd probably do FF1. Although, it's pretty hard to make anything in half an hour, this could be fun.

You misunderstood. The game is supposed to be a half-hour long.
Plus, I think there was a 2 minute contest at one point so 30 isn't stretching it that much.

A note to all potential entrants: While you don't have to recreate the game's battle system, etc., it's a nice touch.

That said, I'm thinking of doing FF3, possibly with JSH and/or Fenrir. I've been thinking of a great way to do the jobs system.

Finally, a contest that's not centered around joke games.

I won't enter it, since I don't have a PC any more and I need to upgrade my OS for dosbox to be compatible. I just look forward to some high quality games for once.

I know this has been dead for a while, but rather than make another one, I'd just reuse this one. Are you actually planning to do this contest? Because everyone sorta stopped talkin about it all at once.

Okay, right, I'd still like to do this. Ripping, good/bad? Even FFH ripped graphics, after all. Should we leave it to the creator's discretion or make it illegal?

Also, the contest would be cross-platform, not just OHR. OHR users might have a slight disadvantage trying to recreate certain battle systems.

That's the way I was leaning, though it would be kind of cool to have all of the game's original graphics. It's the mix-and-match I don't care for.
