Agree there. FFXI has really good battles, most of the time you need all the basic types to succeed (tank, healer, attacker, basically), and you need to use every skill at your disposal to defeat the enemy. I just can't handle it because it's so slooooooooow and I am AN IMPATIENT PERSON :(

I like a strategic battle system type thing as well, where it'd require some thought more than just hold spacebar (or the execute button) to win.

I'm trying to script a system for this manner, but getting the animations in are a pain in the ass. (and I need to finish something else before I finish this)

Yeah, I still haven't gotten around to playing Fire Emblem anything. I have a bunch of the games sitting on my hard drives unplayed. :\
