Okay, the pridicament(sp?) is like this:
I double click on any OHR-related program.
The little box comes up.
The little box disapears.
Nothing after that.
This never happened before, and I think it has something to do with all this anti-virus crap, since that is the only change there's been on my comp.
The programs include:
Avast
Adaware
And I THINK one more...maybe not...cant find it anywhere...
Any info to be offered? _________________ I got it all...most. |

No. Go to start and open up the big menu with all your programs. I believe it's Accesories. If you're using I think 98 or up, it's called Command Prompt. If you use 95, it's called MS-DOS Prompt. _________________ Calehay |

|
|
Okay...
(Do not type things in parentheses, by this, I mean type in the thing that is necessary.)
First type: cd\(name of the directory)
Second, type: game(or the equivalent to game.exe. You don't need to put .exe on the end of it, it's understood.
And voila, you have your file being played in front of your eyes.
EDIT: Totally forgot, press enter after each instruction. _________________ Calehay

cd [drive letter]:\[directory]
Like...
cd c:\hamster
cd d:\windows\ohr
After that, just type the program's name to run it, with or without the extension. Like, typing "custom" or "game.exe" will start either of those.
If need a directory listing, type:
dir /w |

You don't need the directory after the cd\...
Or maybe my short term memory is failing me?
In any case, does that work? If so it's another to put in my memory when I forget how to change directories. _________________ Calehay |

I remember using DOS before Windows existed. Now you young'uns don't even know how to work DOS.
I'll be one of those near-obsolete COBOL coders before long. _________________

Speaking of which, I wonder whatever happened to those DOS navigation instructions I posted quite some time ago...I should probably compile them into an article. _________________

Hmm...I open up DOS prompt, type in the directory, works fine.
Then when I type in 'game' or 'custom' it doesnt do anything.
No error message or anything, it just goes on to the same thing again.
Any ideas? I miss the OHR. _________________ I got it all...most. |

No error messages, that's weird. If you're really desperate, and this only happened just recently, you might use systemrestore. <--- Which can be undone, and it doesn't affect documents (not in XP at least) _________________ SACRE BLEU!
