Bah, I'd enter, but I have absolutely nothing to work with at all, since I still haven't been able to really tinker around enough in order to figure out just how to make good graphics, good plotscripting, etc...
But by next year, I will be entering any 48 hour contests. Good luck to all participants! |

Just for the record, people always get the wrong idea about these contest. Since there's a very small time restraint, there's a good chance that none of the games will be spectacular. The point is to make the best game in the shortest amount of time. All games submitted will be "kinda" put together, so don't worry .
I can't participate though. Up here in Canada, we have finals in June and not May. I'm afraid I have finals and a lot of work to do through June so...No, I won't be doing this, heh. |

Even though it is summer, I will be staying out of this one for a number of reasons. _________________

Even though you're making a 48 Hour contest of your own, I'm still doing mine. (Which will be held, as I said previously, mid-july) |

I dunno if I can just pump ideas out under that kinda pressure. I think that would be the challenge to it all. 48 hours might be long enough to get an idea and start developing it, but as far as making a game goes... you'd have to be very gifted to slap a good one out in that time. _________________

*sighs in sorrow*
I'll enter this one, simply because I'll be at camp during fenix's 48 hour contest (crap; I really wanted to enter that one!)
BAH. Oh...I mean, I'm in!

I'll try it. 48 hour contests look like fun, even if the games turn out badly. :> |

I'd like to enter, but it says they will be uploaded through a tool you post or via IRC. Since IRC (except the one built-in at CP, for some reason) doesn't work for me, and neither does any program I've used to make uploading to my own web-site faster, I don't know if I'd be able to get it in. The only things I've ever been able to upload things with is one that's built-in to the site (like the one here, or a web-shell access thing) or via e-mail. Could I send it in through something like that? And does the thing have to be a normal OHR game, or could it be plotscripted?
And by the way, this will be posted on the other message board too, since I don't know which one is more likely to get read... _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

If anyone's doing this I think you have to post at Otaku. That's what it said in the contest description part. It's going to be a pretty boring contest if only me and Ned (I don't know who that is...) are doing it. I'll also be entering the other 48 hour contest you guys talked about in this thread, if I can. I never heard about it before... huh.
EDIT: Speaking of contests, when does Squall's end? _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

The "other" 48 Hour Contest has been run by Fenix for three years now. I'll probably enter that one. _________________

correction - OHR Otaku ran the original contest, handled the signup for the second one, and is now doing the third _________________

Note: the contest will begin tonight. I do realize it was supposed to start 2 days ago but the server was down and I was extremely busy.
Also, unless 3-5 more people sign up before tonight (11:59pm CST), I will have to drop the free LJ prizes and you will just win the free hosting and email and etc etc. _________________

Correction:
Mew (an old member that hasn't been seen in a while) asked about a 48 hour contest that was held by some older OHRs, and wanted to start up a new one. The idea was interesting so I started it. You were just nice enough (at the time) to host the games and do the (completely unreliable) voting system, then you did the registration for the second one.
Man... I didn't think youd do something like claim credit for this contest. Not even I claimed credit for it. |
