I was merely pointing out the obvious flaws in the potential of that usergroup. I know that it requires planning. And, oh man, I haven't used my Live Journal in so long. *Goes to update.* _________________ ---------------Projects----

Absolutely. People don't even have to request to test a game. It's up on the boards to be tested, basically. If someone sees a bug or mistake of some kind, and they feel it needs to be fixed, they just send a description of it to the game's author or guardian. Then the author posts them back with their thaughts on it, and it is looked into. PMing is obviously the best tool for the task of stating errors you found while playing the game.
I never thaught of it this way before.

You misunderstand the idea Leroy. The idea is that you give a pre-release to a few people to do bugtesting instead of posting a demo up on the gamelist for everyone to download.
I too think its a cool idea, but I'm happy with randomly asking people to bugtest.
Yes of course it couldn't be a CP usergroup. The game delevopers would need to be part of the user group to request help, but then they can not only see everyone elses pre-releases, but everyone is a game delevoper anyway. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

You still forgot that this isn't planned yet, so you don't know if the game's creator really has to do anything or not. You could always just have the creator PM the usergroup leader, then they can post the info of it, then reply with results.
It requires people who actually care :o |

I actually like the idea of pre-testing games before *public* release on CP. It shall give the creator "closure" about his game and he/she shall know exactly the right time to place it in the main CP gamelist.
A good idea for a new UserGroup (I think at least). _________________

Wow. This thread really got off topic. Alright, before the polls close or whatever, should I release HQ2 demo early? _________________ ---------------Projects----

It's your choice RMZ, but if you want gametesters, you can always ask for them and get a few.
Which reminds me, is the finished version to be released on Halloween? If so, I think it would be a good idea to wait for halloween before releasing your halloween-themed game. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

The full version will not be as spectacular because it won't be a surprise to those who saw the sneak preview of it. And if this is for this year's Halloween contest (Which I feel safe in assuming so) that is not a good thing for voting results.

Wow! Don't we love each other!
Okay, since this became a war zone, I am just gonna continue with the prime topic. Maverick, take your time. Don't get too excited. Take it from someone who knows not to release soemthing too early. Of course, you probably have a lot more to show than me... but... take your time and release the demo or the full game, whatever, when it seems like the perfect time. |

Yes TMC, it is scheduled to be released on Halloween Day/Night. Haven't decided when on the day. It all depends on how much I have left to do, which I plan to spend the majority of October playtesting the game. Which that will be the time I will need a good couple of playtesters. And the game is already 2+ hours long, and I am expecting to add about 5+ more to with the material I have mentally planned out. So, if you want to be a playtester, you have a while to think about it.
Oh, and rather than keeping this thread as an argument thread. I am always up for new ideas for cameos in HQ2, so if you have some pitch em to me. I can't promise I will use them, but I will promise I will look at them/consider them. _________________ ---------------Projects----

| Yeah, about my cameo... you said I was supposed to be in it, maybe? Is it gonna be a stupid cameo, a funny cameo, or a awesome cameo? I know this is a stupid question, but it's just I would like to know this if I am cameoed. |

Ha. It's a stupid and funny cameo. You will instantly realize why this is put in the game once you play it. I still think it's pretty funny. I'd give you a screenshot of it, but it gives the whole joke away. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I was thinking of game ideas for some of my own games, and I came up with one that fits your Candy theme/Scarey/Funny theme better.
A monster called a WRAPPER. No not HipHop. It's a mummy that is wrapped in candy wrappers.
Head: A hershy's kiss
Torso: Assorted wrappers and a Spermint gum wrapper as a belt.
Legs and arms: The bones that might show are made from pretzels.
Then I just decided you would think it was stupid and not to mention nosey of me to suggest such a fiend... But now that you mention suggestions...

MCW-I dunno, Eggie's cameo is pretty funny.
Leroy- That's a good idea, I'll think about if I can put that in the game somewhere. _________________ ---------------Projects----
