Well I certainly came off looking like an idiot. Thanks for showing us exactly what's been going on James, it's really appreciated. And kudos to Fyrewulff for telling us how to fix it.
Brazil? That's... interesting.
Inner Fenrir: Pst! It's Moogle1 who's doing it!
Quiet you. Anyway, maybe we'll start seeing some games made in South America? |

Heh...I used to use DAP actually (it sucks so I stopped).
That makes sense though...it takes from as many sources as possible (usually the main source more then once, which would explain the hits) to download one file. Ok, I'm basically re-stated what James said, but...yeah.
MOOGLE1 DID IT. OMFG BUSTED.
Well, glad that's cleared up. I guess. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

I came off looking like an idiot, if that makes you feel better. But, meh, that's my job.
And clearly, the admins should be able to have the power to delete all unwanted downloads to start over again with what ever number you had before this outbreak. If they can't, then we can try to pretend that for every 100 downloads = 1 really...

A while back, a big Brazilian downloads site linked to the OHRRPGCE and to Wandering Hamster. Over time, a lot of other Brazilian sites picked up the listing from them. Brazilian IP addresses make up an average of 1% of my hits, and 3% of my download traffic every month.
However, if there is a Brazilian-Portuguese-Speaking OHR users community out there somewhere, I haven't heard about it yet.
I would love to do a Portuguese translation of Wandering Hamster. I think it would be popular. |

Why not just disable concurrent downloads of the same file by the same IP address? Is that possible? _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Eh...I use DAP...and love it. So I've probably contributed to the problem over the years. Oops...
I really don't understand any of the technical stuff you've been talking about. What area of computer science is it from? Networking? |

OHR Date just hit 600 downloads and made it to the number 5 spot on the most downloaded list.
What's interesting is that Arfenhouse 3 is the only game shared between the highest grade and highest download list- weren't there 2 before this?
Mr. B: I know nothing of what I'm talking about either. Networking isn't my thing. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

It's not a person man, it's the goverment. They control everything. They are just using Brazil as a cover. Like I heard, about this car, that runs on water man...
Okay, enough of Hyde.
There are many reasons why someone would do this, but maybe the person just likes you, Shadow. Or maybe this person like Pitch Black so much, that person wants to make it look better. I mean, come on, some of the best games have the most downloads. Pitch Black is no exception. Or maybe the dude is just being stupid and got drunk or high. |

Eggie, the cause of problem was worked out, and no one's doing it. It seems to be software thats causing the problems. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
