Do Bonuses/Penalties stack? (Example: A hero has a weapon that makes them stronger to fire and is also wearing armor that makes them stronger to fire. Does this make them doubly strong against fire?) _________________ My name is...

I'm pretty sure they don't stack. Elemental resistance will cut down 88% of associated elemental attacks and elemental weakness will double the damage no matter how many of it you have. _________________ im realy ded |

Actually, strengths and weaknesses ARE compounded.
Make a Holyfire Weapon that is strong attacking both fire and holy elementals. Use it against a Firebat, double damage! Use it against a Zombie, double damage! Use it against a Zombie Firebat? Quad Damage!
The same goes for weaknesses too.
As for absorbtion, one absorbing element is all it takes to make the whole attack absorbed. Two elemental absorbtions will not cancel each other out. |

Yep... For example. I had an item equipped that gave my hero strength against fire, but he also absorbed fire, so this way took less damage from fire, and thus he absorbed less.
My memory is a little fuzzy though. This profound memory stuk with me, so I am unsure if it is a true memory. (maybe I was dreaming)
Does the damage absorbed get lessened if you are strong to that element, or if you are weak to it? (This counts as stacking...) _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I think absorb + strength = less absorbed, and absorb + weakness = more absorbed. |

No, no, you misunderstood me. My question was, if there were two bitsets that both said "strong vs. Fire" (if the hero wore, say, fire boots and fire armor), would the character be doubly strong against fire? James? _________________ My name is...

Actually, no it doesn't answer my question. James was referring to strengths and weaknesses being compounded for different elemental types. I'm asking if it works for both, as in 1 hero equipped with two items that both give him strength toward fire. not 1 hero equipped with an item that gives strength to fire and an item that gives strength to some other element. Basically my question is, if two "Strong vs. Fire" bitsets are set to "on", will the hero be twice as strong against fire? I'm pretty sure it's a no, but I'm just checking to make sure. _________________ My name is...

I would presume that it would stack, but I'm not even sure if those bitsets work. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

they don't stack in the manner you're asking about, drizzle. a helmet, an armor, gauntlets, and a shield, which all defend against fire, would not be any different than just wearing a shield that defends against fire. _________________ Tower Defense Game |

I'm almost certain that Rinku is correct. All that the armor would do is set the elemental bitset on. Since it's just a bitset, there aren't multiple levels of "on-ness." |
