Well I sure hope everyone with the letters "G" and "i-l-b-e-r-t" in their name likes losing, and furthermore, that they're good at it, because that's what they're gonna do!

................Actually, Sephyroth's game is light years better than mine, and the version I played of his was just a demo. I only entered because I knew my game would be unique, and because contests suck when you only have two or three contestants.

Barring an unforseen bug, Mormon Mission, an entry by Gizmog1, Flamer, and myself, is ready to go. You're going to enjoy it, I promise.

Mormon Mission = Incredibly clever gameplay.

Sephy's = Intelligent thoughtful gameplay.

My game = 15 seconds of unfair and confusing gameplay.

Rats. I almost was able to finish a game for the contest.

I was really close, too. But it would have been junk (well, not really). I decided that I'd rather wait, lose the chance of getting the prize, and release something that I feel really good about later

You know, the whole "release-it-for-myself-and-prizes-be-hanged" thing. Wink I'd rather do something that I feel good about.

But really...it wasn't the best time for a contest for me. Finals and Christmas, ya know. Not much time for a bloke like me to do stuff he likes.

It was fun trying though..!

all the games are in -- fyre did not enter, sdhawk did. so that's a total of 5 entries, meaning there will be more winners than losers.

the winners will be announced sometime in january.

Fyrewulff said: "Best of luck to the second and third place winners." And then he failed to even enter.

HA! And he wonders why people don't like him.

Well at least there's some competition. Whereas there wouldn't be if Fyre had entered! HAHAHAHAHA!

Pitiful, really. From the length of the original Human Day thread I was expecting at least 15 or so games to come out of this.

Heck, the 48-hour contest this year had more contestants

Yeah, but Literomancy and Mormon Mission are elite and will probably be classics, and Robot Game at least sets the record for the shortest OHR game ever. We usually get two classics from the 48 hour contests if we're lucky, and a dozen pieces of poo poo. I kind of prefer not having to weed through the garbage.

Well, I was going to enter, but between starting late and Liam playing Starcraft 24/7, I just didn't have time to finish my entry. I still have what I had done so far, though, as well as my notes on the plot progression. Who knows, I might finish the game some time, but probably not.

Seeing as how I'm supplying prizes for said places (or at least third place now).

Congratulations for reading too far into that. You get a cookie.

Great way to back yourself up. But seriously though, everyone knew the intention.

Okay Fyre, then how come you didn't attack anyone's mockery of that post BEFORE you dropped out? You pretty much just fell off your high horse and said "I MEANT to do that! In fact, I'd been planning it from the beginning!"

Seriously, if they made a movie about the OHR community you'd have to be played by J0n Lovitz.

I have to agree with gilbert on this...
you just mysteriously log onto IRC and go, "damn, my mum kept me at the supermarket for hours and prevented me from submitting my entry"
then a few seconds later go, "oh well, now to get back to work on Jade"
when all you did was stay on IRC and watched everyone else that was online hassle you...

honestly...
