So, now that I'm home for the holidays and have tons of free time, I thought I'd fix up Bliss. I played through it again to get a handle on it, and found that I beat it in 30 minutes flat without cheating, and didn't have much of a problem doing it. Granted, I know just how to beat it (there are several strategies that seem to work, actually), but it still didn't seem nearly as hard as Shadowiii said it was in his review.

Basically, my problem is that I know it's too hard (since that's been the universal complaint of people who've talked to me about it), but I don't think it's hard at all. I'm really worried that changing it will make it too easy. So, a few questions...

1) Has anybody played through it and not found it difficult? Or, for that matter, even beaten it without cheating?

2) What parts did you find too difficult as opposed to appropriate?

3) Any thoughts on making it easier but not too easy?

4) Anybody who initially stopped playing after the first few battles willing to try it again? (Especially those who only tried the initial release, not the "easier" 2nd version) It can be done without too much trouble, I swear!

Regardless, I know some things need to change, I just don't know what. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Grab some playtesters, thats what you need. I can't (too busy this break) but I'm sure some people would be willing to playtest it in their free time.

Good call. Anyone want to give playtesting a shot? (If not, feel free to answer the above questions anyway. Or do both. Go hog wild!)

*Raises hand*
But not till I finish my Origin review. Need to replay it sadly because I never finished chapter, plus I last played it 4 years ago.

I'll test it. I don't have anything better to do... Oookay...

Hmmm... I played it for the last half hour, and I have a suggestion. Maybe you should ease into the battles a bit more, instead of having a single guard battle with a couple of rats and then, right after, having a battle suddenly with three of the stronger guards. It's too quick a transition, in my opinion. But it's your game, so don't take this too seriously.
