(Blah, it's been too long)
First: Kirby's Dream Land, both regular and extra modes.
Second: Please vote in this straw poll so that I know which of the four date partners in Final Fantasy VII I'll be dating when I get there some time next year (it'll be part of a stream, I'll post a reminder the weeks before and of). |

The date sequence stream for Final Fantasy VII will be happening on Tuesday, 2/14/2017, at 8 PM EST. Right now Aeris and Barret are tied at four votes each, with Tifa at three votes and Yuffie at one vote. There's still time to vote (since I'll just poke around in ram based on who wins so that I can honor the poll) |

Cool! It's been many years since I played through the DN1 demo.
Recently I read that DN1 didn't use the smooth-scrolling that Commander Keen had, because it hadn't been invented yet (although DN1 was released a bit after Keen1, I guess it was too late to be used). Looking at your video, I see that it actually scrolls by half tiles as Duke walks. I guess this was a limitation of the engine's ability to draw tiles, and would have also limited the framerate to something pretty low, since Duke had to move by half a tile per frame. Since I'm an OHR user, I don't find the lack of smooth scrolling that bad, but it does certainly seem less smooth (and probably significantly lower framerate?) than Keen. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
