Review # 2 for Chaos Nyte
Them's Fightin' Words
It seemed like a good idea. Why not make a real life game simulator? Unfortunately, Chappell manages to destroy this otherwise clever idea by constantly pushing for the player to "Buy the full version" I look down on people who try to sell there games as a general rule, but when you use it as an excuse for laziness, you don't deserve anything but my scorn. Is an area not done? Buy the full version! Can't enter a building? It'll be done in the full version! Never mind that this version is incredibly buggy. To bad Chappell let his greed get in the way of making a decent game.

Storyline- Chappell's dad wakes him up for his first day of school and from that point on the player can pretty much do what they want. Granted, it's mostly wandering around in buildings that aren't done yet, but it's still non-linear. If you want events to happen, you can go to the school. By the way, in addition to you playing a character that shares the name of the author, every major building in town has the name Chappell some how incorporated in it. God forbid he think of something original. At the school, you can beat the school bully and attempt to get a girlfriend. There's suppose to be a clever time system, but the plotscripting is far to messed up for it to work. This game simply wasn't ready to be released. Dialogue is awful, full of poorly spelled slang.

Graphics- Let me start off by saying that I have never seen walkabouts this ugly in any other OHR game. The main character Chappell doesn't look to bad, though his walk is awful, but the rest of the NPCs in this game are incredibly bad. No effort was put into them. The maptiles and battle graphics aren't as bad, but still show a disturbing lack of effort. How Chappell thought he could sell this ugly game is beyond me.

Gameplay- Non-linear, so there are some things to do, but very few of your actions have any effect on the world. Beating up a nerd won't make the nerds hate and fear you, beating up the school bully doesn't earn any respect, so it's all very pointless. Shops in the game sell interesting things like CDs, but money is so hard to come by in the game that the shop become pointless too. Chappell existence by itself is pointless, he can't get a job, can't join a team, can't get a girlfriend, all he can do is wander around activating events that don't do lead any where.

Music- Ripped from popular songs of the time. You know, if he did manage to sell this game, he'd get his ass sued for ripping all these songs. There not all that well placed, and most are badly mangled in the conversion to bam process.

Final Scores
Graphics: 2/10.0
This is one ugly game.
Storyline: 2/10.0
It's non-linear, to bad there's so little to do.
Gameplay: 3/10.0
"yawn" Maybe there's some if you buy the "full version"
Music: 4/10.0
Some how outdated 90ties songs don't exactly thrill me.
Overall Grade: F+
Final Thoughts
You know what Chappell? If you want money that bad, get a job, instead of making a shitty game and thinking people will buy it.
