Them's Fightin'
Words |
Joke is a funny yet confusing game about a guy called Steve. Steve wakes up in the middle of nowhere and wonders where his girlfriend Tracy could be. Filled with humor, Joke is a game that is enjoyable to play.
Graphics |
The graphics aren't top-notch, but are better than many, many newbie games. The grass tiles are very simple, and don't look like grass. The cliffs are better, but still lack realism. The walkabouts are better than the maptiles, and are more realistic looking.
Storyline |
Basically, Joke boils down to; guy wakes up in an alternate world with no memory, meets viking, finds his girlfriend, who, in the alternate world is a princess, kidnaps her, and they go on many adventures trying to find reality. Hilarious.

Gameplay |
The gameplay in Joke is sort of straightforward, and takes the player on a linear interactive-book type story.
Battle |
A basic battle system. Mainly suited to buuton bashers and holders the world round.
Map Design |
The maps, while being rather confusing, are well designed.
Balance |
Joke, while being difficult, is a graphically uninpressive story driven game.
Music |
The music is well placed, and there might have been an original tune jammed in there.
Enjoyment |
Joke, while being generally enjoyable, was really let down by the lack of RPG elements. Even though it is not really an RPG-type game, a few RPG elements could have made it better.
Final Blows |
Joke, while having an incredibly funny story, and (see screenshots) a fight between Steve and the creator of the game, is let down by the bad graphics.

Final Scores
Graphics: 3/10.0 |
Bad. An improvement in the quality of the graphics would make Joke a much better game.
Storyline: 7/10.0
Hilariously funny. The fighting between Steve and the creator is a contender for the funniest thing in any RPG. |
Gameplay: 4/10.0 |
Too difficult. Really needed to be easier.
Music: 3.5/10.0
Ripped, with a possible original tune. |
Enjoyment: 4/10.0

Fun, but a general letdown afterwards. |

Final Thoughts |
The graphics really need improvement. Hilarious dialogue, but lacked in RPG content. |
