i've downloaded the nightly as of january 03, 2010. i can't import sound, it just converts repeatedly and switching to a different window or pressing escape stops this but it just imports the first sound in the folder, not the sound that i need. does anybody else experience this? how do i fix it? thanks... _________________ So many ideas, so little focus. I've had the same problem here too, if you import then export them into the stable version then you can import them back into the WIP version as OGGs, but thats a pain, so I'll just quote you across to the Y candidate if thats cool with you. |

Very strange. That section of code has not changed at all in a pretty long time.
Does this happen for all sounds? Or just some sounds? What format MP3? WAV? or something that is already in OGG format? |

i was trying to import wav files...
in the new wip i did not have problems importing these waves:
windows pcm
11025hz, 8-bit mono
problems started when i impoted something like this:
windows pcm
11025hz, 16-bit mono
- after importing this i think all file types cause the error. i'm not really sure why but i hope this would help...
- oh and all works fine in the stable version and the wip from november (sorry i forgot which one^^) _________________ So many ideas, so little focus. Monk spirit please lend me your power!

teeemcee found and fixed the problem this morning. Re-download and try again, and it should be working perfectly. |

W-what? I was fixing what I thought was an unrelated bug. EDIT: James, did you imply that you managed to reproduce it and confirm it fixed?
Just now I have managed to reproduce this bug. Or the symptoms anyway. madplay throws an error and loops over and over.
EDIT: BlastedEarth has discovered something: that nightly, the only -s console build, is the only one that works. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Sorry, I had assumed (apparently incorrectly?) that your checkin fixing the exepath/working directory bug in madplay oggenc location was a fix for this issue.
I had not reproduced this bug, haven't had a chance to do much of any Windows testing lately.
Sorry for creating confusion on this. |

here's an annoyingly lame fix: put all your sound in separate folders and import through those folders! It'll work, but it's tedious! |

Fixed! Calling the ogg encoder was for some reason causing the enter key to get stuck down (I still don't know why, but worked around it). Thanks for the bug hunting. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
