How do you make spells that decrease an enemies or an allies stat attributes such as defense? Stupid question, I know, but I don't want to fool around wiith it until I know for sure. Could someone explain?

Make the target stat Defense or Attack, and if you want really specific stuff, like it goes down to 50% of what it is, use damage settings that set it to '50% of the Maximum.' You could use '50% of Current' or whatever, but I'd advise against it since if it's used enough times on the same person, it could make them do virtually no damage or take virtually all damage thrown at them. To heal the affliction, use '100% of the Maximum.' If you want to make it better, just keep raising the percentage. Or you could do it other ways, using normal damage calculators to do it. The percentages are very handy for fake status afflictions, though.

IMO, fooling around is the absolute best way to learn the ohr. It's way more fun than asking questions anyway.

Thanks Battle Blazes Inc.

Iblis: I have tried fooling around with it, but how long do you wanna take with it? I don't want to throw my computer out the window! After thinking I have it, trying it in GAME.EXE and seeing that it doesn't makes me resort to questions

"When in doubt, check the tutorial."

It explains about target stats, base attack stats, base defense stats... it should explain everything if you still don't understand.

Just to be sure, the tutorial is a file called "HOWTO.TXT", it should be in the same folder as "CUSTOM.EXE".

To use it, double-click on it in Windows Explorer, or open "NOTEPAD.EXE", click on the "File" tab, choose the "Open" option, then navigate to the proper folder in the "dialog box" until you find the proper file, at which point you would click on the "Open" button.

Yes, I am treating you like an idiot on purpose.
