There is no need to use VDMS for HSPEAk, for one its not run in DOS, and because it contains no sound. _________________

i dont run with it the problem is that when you come to them type of files you HAVE to run it with VDMSOUND.
otherwise it says this does not support 16 BIT WIN32. _________________

VDMS cannot associate itself with EXEs, you always have to start VDMS first, either manually or via it's special shortcuts (with the latest version)
1. download HSPEAK again
2. don't touch anything. Attempt to compile a script.
3. come back if it gives the error again. |

How I use VDMS (when I'm not running it from the command line ) is to have a VDMS shortcut to GAME and CUSTOM. That way, I just need to double click on them to run VDMS and open the program.
Here's a tip for that: In the GAME shortcut properties, if you stick a question mark (?) in the Command Line parameters box, it'll ask you for them when you open it. Thus, if you want to play a game you just downloaded (or whatever), you can just double click on the GAME shortcut, and type in "whatever.rpg", and it'll load it for you. _________________ I stand corrected. How did you make a shortcut to VDMS, so you could just double click it? That would be really useful. _________________

Oops, I forgot: You need VDMSound Launchpad. This is a front-end for VDMS which lets you make special shortcuts to dos programs with customized settings. Like, for the OHR, you can turn off SoundBlaster emulation, since it doesn't use it.

That's the lastest version, it should have both VDMS and VDMS LP in it. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

I got the new version and launchpad, but how am I supposed to configure the launchpad so I can run game.exe automatically? Whenever I try to do it myself I get error messages like Unhandled exception or whatever, and it will exit out of MS-DOS. I will get custom files with a .vlp extension and i dont know what to run them with. _________________

To make a VDMS shortcut (i.e. a .vlp file), you right click on the program, and choose "<note icon> Run with VDMS". Hit next, choose the options for the program (for the OHR, get rid of the Soundblaster), then the program will run. Meanwhile, a shortcut with the options you chose is created.
In the future, to run the program again, just double click on the shortcut that's created. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.
