OK, CP has switched servers...but we weren't informed of the switch. Megaweb was slowly taking down the old server, and our new server was up and running for a few weeks, but we didn't know about it. Some of you pointed out that my personal site, bakajohn.com, was down. Megaweb has control of the DNS listings for bakajohn since I bought the domain through them. I purchased castleparadox.com through a different company.
When the new server was up, bakajohn.com was altered to point to the new server. Luckily, Megaweb couldn't alter castleparadox.com's DNS and we remained pointing to the old server. That's the start of our problems...
After setting up the new server, Megaweb took the old server down a few times (All those damn connection problems and down days!!) This Sunday, heat did me a huge favor and downloaded all 800MB of CP and uploaded it to the new server which I found out about Saturday Night while "talking in a civilized manner" with tech support (read: I found strange new ways to combine 4 letter words in a sentence.)
CP is almost finished in it's move. I requested a change of castleparadox.com's Name Servers and recieved confirmation that the changes will take effect within 48 hours. So, for the next 2 days, please refrain from uploading new avatars and images. We are using the new SQL database right now, so any posts will remain. But right now, uploading still goes to the old server. I'll post again when I've confirmed that uploads are appearing on the new server.
Just know that any uploads you make during the next 2 days will be lost when castleparadox.com points to the new server. Sorry _________________

Hrm . He said not to UPLOAD anything that, and that we're using the NEW database. Meaning, POSTS will survive if you make them, but images and games WON'T.
That's all, heh. Go ahead and post your heart out. Your posts will survive. |

OK, I just tested and we're on the new server. To top it off, game file uploads also work correctly again. And seeing that file uploads now work, expect a bam archive sometime this week. Upload to your hearts content _________________

Ever since the server shut down and came back up, I've been having an error 'Failed Sending E-mail.' I'm aware that the post still goes through and that the question has been asked before (though I don't remember where), the post doesn't bump the thread or tell you (correctly) who the last poster of the thread was. This is bad for me, because I only check new threads (and the old ones may have had new posts in them) and odd when I click on the 'latest post' icon and there are several more posts after that. So, I'm just wondering, is there anyway to fix this? Is it just me? _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children!

There, you see? The previous post hasn't shown up due to the error so has gone unnoticed (and I can't delete it for some reason to try reposting it). I hope this post gets through as a new one... _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |
