That pirate looks too fancy, what with the nice, clean, pure white shirt and all. Needs more dirty, grungy, unshaven pirateyness.

Were that not my dad's shirt (actually, everything but the pants and shoes are his), then I'd grunge it up but good.
Also, hats are for cap'ns. Ye think I can achieve cap'n status on my first pirate run? I be lucky te have me pirate bandana, matey!
(This reminds me of the best-ever line from SoE: "You'll be wanting to buy my armor, matey. It's the best.")

You did well in the theme you were looking for. Was this for some dress up party or something? I went to one last week. It was Hippy/Ducktail dressup. Really queer topic. But I had to make do.

Yeah, it was for a dance. I didn't win any contests -- there was a fabulous Mystery Machine gang there, sans Scooby -- but it was fun.
My experience can be summed up with one of Fortis's comics:
