What if a game doesn't follow this year's theme? Shouldn't there be an additional grading based on whether or not the game followed the theme? Like, each person lists his or her three favorite games (enjoyment) and the three games that best followed this year's theme (like MCW's 528 hour contest). Thus, games would get points for being fun & following the theme.

Maybe I missed something you said earlier about how games would be judged if they followed the theme or not, but I'm just checking.

Worthy - In all the 48 hour contests I've seen, the theme was just a prerequisite (that is, if you do it you get in, if you don't you are out). I believe Fenix determins whether or not a game follows the theme.

After that, 48 hour contests are voted on purely by how much one enjoyed the game.

However, MCW had a really good idea...the "all contest members are obligated to vote but not for their own game." As he said, it made it fair for people in teams vs people who soloed it (which, believe me, is a LOT harder then with a team). Also, having everyone vote for someone other then themself made the votes not-biased (ie, since I know voting will only help the competition, I could be a jerk and not vote at all). Maybe we could instigate this again...

Edit: Before you vote, PLEASE make sure you have the latest version of my file. ( http://www.castleparadox.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=27070#27070 ). I was an idiot (as usual) and the third version was a serious screw up (gun wouldn't even shoot. I turned allow double scripting on and it raped my game). This is the old, 12:00 am version from last night, so it should work out just fine. _________________ But enough talk, have at you!

Worthy, djfenix looks into every game, plays it and what not, and then, he takes the total points you would have recieved if your game did what he required. Like, last year he took off points for people who were late, or didn't have all the elements in the game that he required. So if all of our entries have a Fairy Tale plot and you turned it in on time then you are pretty much good for no point reduction. _________________ ---------------Projects----

				| Like everyone said, I just check to see if the theme was included. As for the voting, I prefer not to get complicated. Sure, it would be cool to see who had the best graphics/followed theme the best/whatever, but I like to get straight to the point and see who had the overall best. If I had more entries, however, then it would probably be better to add catagories to distinguish the each game. Maybe next year ^^ |

Ok Im not sticking to the top3 games, I want to do a rundown of them all...

I gave each game a rating out of 10, considering the time factor and such.

Heres the list:

*1* -9- Gargan and Troy - RMZ and Worthy

Very good plotscripting, Good graphics, Great Mini-Games, The Wolf-

Race was damn hard (Well for me at least) but was fun, Funny, good

     story.

*2* -9- The Fox and Eight Six - Hachi-Roku and Charbile

Exellent Walkabouts, the background gave me a bit of a headache, Fun

Adventure - Figuring everything out, takes time, I didnt finish it as I

got to the beanstalk and fell and died I had got so far with lots of

items and names and I could'nt start again, but from what I saw, it

     was brilliant.

*3* -8- The Seventh Day - Shadowiii

Extremely buggy plotscripts - It could just be my PC, Very good

graphics, Good Story, What fairy-tale was the game based on?

*4* -8- Once Upon a Ninja - Sew and SDhawk

Difficult but fun, No battles, Nice graphics, Good Fairy-tale based story.

*5* -7- Brick Road - Chenzi

Such good sprites - too easy to kill, Adventure backdrops were well

done, Good fairy-tale base, Very Easy.

*6* -6- Henry and Gabe - Jjkaybomb

Funny, Battles were'nt entertaining enough, Very Short.

*7* -5- Bo Hobo - Artificial Sagacity

Funny, Graphics bad, Boring mazes with the guards, very easy.

*8* -3- The Thrill is Gone - Uncommon

Funny, Short, Not based on a fairy-tale, I can relate to... Nice hitting

head mini-game (If I can call it that ), Great pics by

     Uncommon.

As you can see there are critisism and comments there, you make out what you think it which...

Although I gave both "Gargan and Troy" and "The fox and Eight-six" a 9/10, I had to give Gargan and Troy the upper hand as I enjoyed it just a slightly bit more than TFAES. Well done to RMZ and Worthy for getting my vote... _________________

If you got to day three I think it was, I made it blantantly obvious which fairy tale it was.

It should be mandatory that if you don't beat the game you at least you SAY you don't beat the game before voting. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Yeah, "The Fox and the Eight-Six" was recently revised, and now there's 98% more saving (ie. save almost anywhere). _________________ Long road ahead. Ready to walk? |

I'll admit that I didnt finish your game, the plotscripts were so buggy that I could bearly see what was going on in the game, with all the plotscript errors. Sorry Shadowiii. I see you added a new download, I rated these games a few hours ago, maybe that download has fixed all the problems. And from what the beginning of the game was like, it seemed impossible to fit a fairy-tale in, so i just assumed. Sorry.

I'll download that new file, and edit my post. _________________

Don't worry, I don't blame you. You have the totally mental-retarded Shadowiii version (ie you press shoot, get a script error...I am such a douche).

I won't hold it againt you...it was my fault. The new version actually works now, though. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |
