The first pic seems more "rounded" (for lack of better word) than the second one. The 2nd one has more straight instead of slightly curved lines. In short, the first one looks more realistic to me. I also think it was partly the shading, but that doesn't really count, heh. |

Yeah, the shading doesn't count, especially since it's really just coloring. Besides, I'm CGing the second one now... Maybe I'll round off a few lines while I'm working on it, though. |

Double-post again, sorry...
Lamar, Thomas Riley
Hair (top): Blond
Hair (side): Brown
Eyes: Blue
Collar: White
Shirt: Black
Pants: Black
Coat: Dark Grey
Shoes: Brown
Thomas, although he isn't the main character, is the real "hero" of WGMD. He is the one appointed by the angel Morpheus as the lord of earth's paladins. He's also Caleb's only real father-figure, and his mentor.
I'm working on the new picture of Fiona, too. It will be her alternate stance (guitar in hand), as well one of her alternate costumes (that's right, alternate costumes). Hopefully I'll have it done tomorrow... |

Forgive the triple-post, but I have some things to show... I didn't like a few things about the picture of Thomas, and Hunter (on IRC) told me he thought the legs were too short, So I changed it a bit and scanned it again, so compare and critique.
I also finished that picture of Fiona. I like to call this costume the "indy rocker".
The little ellipsis word-buble is to denote that she's been muted, quite permanently, actually. |

Overall they look very good, but Thomas' nose bugs me. I know it's a stylistic thing, but it's too round. Like a (for an example of a really bad analogy ) golf ball that has skin stretched over it to make a nose. I know that sounded insulting, but I don't mean it that way, I'm just horrible at describing things, and those analogy's are what I end up with.
The other thing is that Tom's fingers on his right hand seem to be slightly out of proportion. They all look of equal length, which technically fingers are, but they're set on a hand to look like they have different lengths. Again, it's a stylistic thing, but I just prefer those hands. They might look worse on those pictures, though, so I dunno.
His left hand doesn't look like it's holding the sword. It looks like the sword is floating in front of his gfist, 'cuz I don't see any part of his hand curling over the hilt of the sword.
On the right foot, the bottom of it needs to be just slightly curved, otherwise the angle does not look right in proportion to the rest of the foot.
It's just nit-picking, really (for another analogy that's bad and also gross) 'cuz overall they look very good.
I'll writw a bit about the other pic, but that's all I'm writing for now 'cuz I'm tired.

Ah... I like Thomas' nose. It's my most detailed one, mostly since I have it completely figured out. His hand isn't really visible because of his handguard, otherwise I'd show his hand a little more.
Regarding Fiona, I forgot to say something. Don't comment on the guitar. I know I'm not good at drawing them, and even that one took a long time. I wish I could blame it on not having a guitar to look at, but I had Ulysses in front of me the whole time... |

I don't like Thomas' front foot. Having his toes up throws off his stance a bit, methinks. Even in a good "Back" or "Horse" stance (he is leaning towards a back stance) the front foot is on the ground, while the person leans 75% of their weight on their back foot (which is bent).
Yeah. As an experienced martial artist, his front foot being up...really...bugs me.

Now every time I look at it, I'll think he's about to to do a bout of tap-dancing. I think it shouldn't have the toe up.

But I like the toe up... He's not even a martial artist, he's a sword fighter... |

Still, no sword fighting or fighting stance of any kind will have you put your toes up (or heel up for that matter). It throws off your balance, which is BAD. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Heh, at least he looks dignified... (I don't really know what that is SUPPOSED to mean) I think Thomas is the coolest (because of the nose) Only thing that really bugs me is the modern clothing, but you can keep it, they are your characters afterall. (I am actually wielding a mace while wearing a comfy sweater... In real life... Seriously...) _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Hey, at least he changed it enough that it doesn't look like Naruto You have to admit that's pretty good for MSPaint, as well. Better than anything I can do at least. As for on topic, I rather like his toe being up, it looks more...what's the word....natural? It could just be the way he fights or something of the like. Maybe he was in the middle of an action and that's just how his toe was pointed at the time. Oh well, that's my two cents. _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek
