Granted he's not all that good, but he's gotten better since he first started posting his stuff. And while it may be second class work, it's more than most people have to show around here.

Okay, there is no way you can say someone is totally, unconditionally without talent, as you just said about Eggie. He may not be GOOD at what he does, but the only time when you can even IMPLY that someone is talentless is when they suck AND do not try. Now, I've been following Eggie's work for MUCH longer than you, and he has improved MASSIVELY. Yes, his stuff still does not meet my approval, but if you look at his old art then look at this, it's like looking at Eggie now vs. Lucier.

Durandal, do us a favor and fuck off. If you don't have something constructive to say, and you obviously don't, then keep your mouth shut. I agree that criticism is always something that should be given when evaluating artwork or something similar, but the criticism should be CONSTRUCTIVE, and what you are doing is bashing the hell out of his work. It may not be all that hot, but that does not give you the right to tear it to shreds. If he put hard work into it, then he deserves credit for it, even if it is a piece of shit (and, Eggie, those graphics aren't pieces of shit, but they aren't all that hot, but everyone's already said what I would have said, except Durandal, so follow their advice).

And for the record, if you're going to act like that, I'd like to see you post some of your own work.

Talent just rfers to innate ability. People can overcome lack of talent through hard work. Also, acting like a cocksucker and insulting someone without offereing any help whatsoever isn't the way to make them improve either. Unless you call what you're doing "criticism", in which case i'd have to say you reallly suck at criticism.

Ummm . . . no. Eggie's sprites have quite a few thinks going for them. He actually uses shading, and uses it correctly for the most part. Seriously, his sprites are FAR better than some others I've seen. For example, Logan's Quest. Or perhaps Final Fantisy 0 (yes, it's spelled that way). Or, if we go on a purely technical basis, ARFENHOUSE!!!1!!!.
So, not everything about his sprites are bad. Sorry to ruin your fun, but you're WRONG, bucko.
