Like I said above, because I dont use a "contest .rpg file" anymore, it's the theme that hopefully prevents anyone from making anything beforehand. I wouldn't put my faith on the honour system alone.
But, if i were to do this, it would be vital to the contest that the theme be known whenever a contestant starts the contest, which would be possible if I emailed all the participants the theme individually, and hold off releasing their game until everyone is done (or, have them send me the game like they did the earliar years). |
It might help to limit people to a short time span - a week or less, say, to ride over small glitches like having school on monday (a problem for me only if the contest isn't in the next 3 weeks, before the start of semester). I think you'd definitely want to collect the finished game from people if you do.

to be honest, it's still way too early.
I like to wait in the middle of july, or even beginning of august. That way, grade schoolers AND college students are off for the summer. And i usually do a weekend because most people dont work weekends (for those of us who have full-time jobs)
So, yeah. I may as well run it again this year. I'm thinking last week of july sometime. Any objections? You got 5 months to give your say |

I'm glad to hear it's not planned soon. Mid-July would be better than late July for me though (no monday). Is that still summer holidays there?

Summer vacation round here usually ends late August/early September.
So far, the only requirements on the date are:
-Before the end of July (during mid-Summer)
-Inconvenient days are Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (so pretty much has to be weekend) |
