Here's a remix I've worked on for a month or so. It's Zelda 3's Dark World theme swirling with a Jurassic Park ostinato for the intro. Amazing! It's like it's an adventure, and you're invited! Phenomenal!

The part in the 5:30 to 6:00 area has some weird rythm problems, as far as I can tell.
Otherwise, not bad. *thumbs up* _________________ SACRE BLEU!

And "ritardando" could be construed as "becoming retarded."
That is, if you don't understand music or Italian. _________________

And "RITARD!" could be construed as bad spelling.
Some pretty heavy conjecture we're pulling out of our asses today.
[edit] longe, I recognized that there was a ritardando there, but the random rythm problems remained, all the way through the end actually. Especially noticable when it came to the drums. _________________ SACRE BLEU!

Pretty good instrumentation. It really sets the mood and keeps a pulse going. I'd like to think you composed this yourself (I'm not implying that you didn't, I'm just saying that if you say this is just an MP3 render of someone else's MIDI file, I will cry).
One thing I would highly recommend is adding dynamics to your melodic instruments (mostly the woodwinds and occasionally the horns) so they don't sound so fixed on velocity. It will add a bit more realism to the VSTi sound you're using, which I must say that if you're using the VSTi I think you're using (EastWest Symphonic Orchestra, if I can take a shot in the dark), then you've made a good choice in VSTi's aside from Edirol Orchestral which is like a pet to me.
All in all, I've heard countless renditions of Zelda music (hell, I've done some myself), and this one definitely rises above the masses of them (which isn't hard to do since most of them suck, but that's beside the point) and stands out as a worthy accomplishment.
Good job! _________________

wow, i expected like 1 response this week.
yea I notice I was a bit lazy on spiffying up the velocities. I remember 2 weeks ago, I was struggling terribly at 2 minutes, and decided it would be a goal to reach 4 minutes. Then before I knew it, it was 8 minutes. So I had to go back and chop off some 2 minutes. That part was the hard, since each section was a link to the next and cutting out sections meant I needed to come up with a new section anyway.
And I dont know but I believe I fixed the rhythm at 5:30 and uploaded it. Tell me if I'm wrong bena! Essentially I had to speed up the ritardando to reduce some seconds on my quest to shorten the song. |
