I guess it's because they don't need to care about rendering the main characters, but FPS have some of the best graphics.

I always love seeing a drawing from outline to the final product. It looks good. The only thing I would recommend is to include the elbows and knees.

I think turn-based battles would indeed allow for more strategy. However, I don't think I have seen a game that really did take advantage of it.
