A world of great beauty and good natured people - Zyra - is destroyed by an evil sorceror, and the survivors are forced to eke out a meager existance. Seeking to undo the damage caused by their nemesis, a specially trained soldier is sent back in time to recruit an army capable of defeating him before his plans come to fruition.
Meanwhile, the first superluminal ship from Terra arrives and is promptly destroyed by forces unknown. It's only survivor: a man whose mission is to seek out that same sorceror and kill him. Haunted by nightmares, and without direction, he must rely on the help of those he brefriends in an alien world.
Two men. One destiny. But will their combined power be enough to save the world?
